The hotel really should be a 5 star hotel. We travel to Florence twice a year and could not be more impressed with this hidden gem. It is in a small private courtyard and a five minute walk to the Duomo. The staff is courteous and helpful. The rooms are impeccably clean and the maid service is outstanding. There is a restaurant across the courtyard that we dined at twice even though we have friends that own restaurants in Firenze. We are accustomed to 5 star experiences with Ritz, Auberge, and Four Seasons and we gave this hotel a try because we were in a hurry, We got really lucky!

Location & Amazing Staff

The doorman, Umberto, was the top of his profession. We were lost driving into the city - they sent a person 6 blocks over to walk us down the streets to the front of the hotel. The hotel is lovely and the best location. I've stayed in Florence many times - I will return to this hotel from now on.

I have never in my LIFE had a better hotel experience. We received an upgrade to the pool suite - one word, WOW. We were absolutely blown away by the amenities, the service, the room, the food, the view. I could go on. Will recommend this hotel to anyone who will listen.

The quality of the stay at the Brunelleschi is wonderful, from the first greetings by door and front desk staff, housekeeping, breakfast and restaurant staff alike, everyone helped us feel well relaxed and easy. The room and general hotel appointments are lovely, but of course its people make the stay special.

I stayed at the Brunelleschi Hotel in Florence 30 years ago in 1995, and again in 2006. It is extremely well situated just a stone’s throw from the Duomo but in a tranquil little piazza. The hotel has been completely renovated (probably several times!) since my last visit, and is elegant and sophisticated. The staff were friendly and welcoming on this visit in 2025 and I was even checked in by a lovely lady who had been working there back in 1995! My check-in and out were seamless and the concierge staff were prompt and helpful with my many bags. All the staff speak English but they accommodated my imperfect Italian which I greatly appreciated. My only grievance for the stay, was the bed. While the Superior room was spacious and stylish, the bed was comprised of two singles pushed together, with nothing but a sheet on the top to cover the fissure in the middle. For one person, it was extremely uncomfortable and I spent a sleepless night even after trying to level it out with a towel and a blanket. I’ll definitely return to this lovely hotel and I won’t wait another 30 years. But I will be very specific when booking the room to ensure I get a true double or queen bed and not 2 badly combined singles.

Great staff, location, poor climate control.

Hotel was great overall, and the staff was fantastic. But the room climate control did not work. It was very stuffy, so I had to open the window to sleep, which was very loud. Resulting in a poor night's sleep.
