Our stay at Hotel Calimala was nothing short of incredible. The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of Florence, just a short walk from the Duomo, Uffizi, Palazzo Vecchio, and some of the city’s most elegant shops and restaurants. It made exploring the city effortless. The hotel itself was immaculately clean, stylish, and thoughtfully designed. Every detail felt intentional. What truly set it apart, though, was the service. Gemma was exceptional - warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. She went above and beyond to make us feel at home. We’re already looking forward to our next stay. Hotel Calimala will definitely be our go-to in Florence.

Great location. Loved the bar & rooftop! Would’ve liked to know when booking that there are 2 buildings of the property just steps from each other, a west and east. Only negative thing was that our room had a window with a view to the wall which also wasn’t specified but was told at checkout that a different window view could may have been modified. Other than that, I would stay here again.

This is a great hotel in the heart of Florence. You literally get out of the door into everything you would need and want, including all the most amazing main attractions. A few steps from Il Duomo. Beautiful rooms, great service and they also have an adjacent rooftop restaurant and bar to watch the most beautiful sunset.

We had the most wonderful honeymoon at The Calimala. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable, and we couldn’t recommend a drink at the hotel bar, at The Angel Rooftop bar and dinenr at Meze. The hotel is perfect walking destination for the hole city, with so many beautiful places to see nearby! Couldn’t recommend more!

Location & Food is great

Location and restaurant is top notch. It has a small but functional gym and staff is friendly. However, a room close to elevator isn’t the best because they don’t have great sound proofing. Noise of passing guests , staff , vacuum etc wakes you up.

I had a fantastic stay at Hotel Calimala in Florence—everything about it exceeded expectations. The hotel itself is beautifully designed, blending historic charm with modern touches, and the location is perfect for exploring the city--walking distance to everything including Santa Maria Novella train station. What truly made the experience memorable was the incredibly friendly and attentive staff, who went out of their way to make us feel welcome and cared for. From helpful recommendations to warm greetings each day, their hospitality really stood out. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Florence.
