It is in fact from here that Francesco I de Medici watched his beloved Bianca Cappello who lived in the building on via Maggio which the Great Duke had built in 1566 by Buontalenti, whose beautiful fountain is underneath the aedicule. Indeed, the love story between Francesco I de Medici and the venetian Bianca Cappello was one of the most beautiful and passionate love stories from the Renaissance period, and this house bore witness to their story.
