Cancelled on us the day we arrived

We booked our trip in August of 2024 and received an immediate approval and acceptance of the reservation. Vrbo reminded us of the reservation before our stay and I paid in full in advance. The morning of our stay, I reached out to see if we could check in a bit early or at least drop our bags off and received a text back telling me the apartment wasn’t available. I assumed that meant it wasn’t available to check in early but after calling the number three times, I finally reached someone who apologized and told me that we couldn’t stay because the apartment wasn’t available at all. He said he didn’t realize we booked it because he doesn’t get a lot of vrbo bookings and it’s not available. He did offer to book us in another one of their properties but it was smaller and couldn’t accommodate our party size. He assured me that he would call vrbo to tell them about the mistake while we looked for alternative accommodations but we when reached out to vrbo ourselves, he hadn’t called them. He did check in later the next day to see if we found another place to stay. Too little too late.
