Elegance and craftsmanship in every room. Gorgeously decorated, including potted plants that somebody waters, and hand painted pictures of the gardens. Meticulously clean and very thoughtfully they provided all the towels, soap, dishes, coffee, and everything you would need. Oh, and then there’s the view out the windows!!
Would definitely stay again in this Villa close to the city!
Barbara’s home is beautiful and just like the pictures. We had access to the entire second floor there is a separate entrance (up several flights of stairs) and
Beautiful property, amazing location and wonderful host
My family and I had a wonderful time while staying at this home. The property is even more beautiful in person. The location is amazing...walking distance to Ponte Vecchio and other Florence attractions. Barbara was a very gracious and responsive host. I highly recommend staying here. We will definitely stay here again if we travel back to Florence in the future.
Seven friends , 3 couples plus 1, enjoyed the space and especially the well stocked kitchen. Views from windows were beautiful especially when rain stopped and rainbow was visible. Bathtub was definitely used and appreciated. Food shops nearby and Gianni bar were great resources.
Our family of 5 adults stayed here and it was lovely. It’s in a beautiful neighborhood that is easily accessible to the city. There are plenty of stores within walking distance to buy supplies, and if you have a car (which we did) there was somewhere to park it during one stay. The villa is decorated nicely and has everything necessary for a wonderful stay. There are several stairs to access the villa. This was fine for our group but keep this in mind. Barbara was wonderful for check in assistance and the entire process was easy.

Short stay
It is a lovely spot, very nice neighborhood. House was nice a good size for 6 to 8 people, 3 water closets are a plus.Just a little tough to communicate with host. Does not speak English but figured it out with her towards the end. Also a lot of stairs & the chair lift does not operate.
The home was absolutely gorgeous. We enjoyed our stay. The only negatives were the outside was under construction and workers were hammering and running tools at 8:00 am each morning. Also we were not aware that there was an upstairs apartment and those guests walked into our apartment by mistake. And there was no paper towels, napkins, or dish towels for guests. Still a great house and good location.
The home is beautiful and was spacious enough to accommodate me and my 4 friends who stayed at Villa Lia. It's away from the main part of the city but still walkable (although far) for those that can handle a 30-40 minute walk. Barbara was an excellent host that checked in consistently and provided recommendations of places to eat nearby the home. Definitely check out Chalet Fontana, which was one of her recommendations and one of our favorite meals of the trip. There was a small communication issue when Barbara called me since she stated her English is not the best, but we resolved that by switching to text where she could translate her messages.
Checkin was smooth even though our train got delayed. The apartment was easy to find, and just the right size for our party of 8 (including 2 kids). The host was very helpful and responded right away to our emails and questions.
We loved the location, it was easy to walk around (ok a long walk around) to the Basiclica di San Miniato and the Piazzale Michealangelo. The stores were a little too far for schlepping groceries, but it was easy to find a cab to bring you back.
We had to change our plans to go into the city because of the Marathon, but there were delightful restaurants and the Museo Galileo a short ride away.
All in, we had a wonderful time.
This is a wonderful property very spacious and easily accommodated my family of 8, it was our 2nd location of the holiday. We spent 3 days in the heart of Florence & were looking for a quieter location for the remainder of our stay in Florence which is was. The only criticism we have is the information regarding the private pool is very misleading! The photos on the website are not accurate to size and a more accurate description is needed. The pool is very shallow and small. However we did have a fabulous time here and Barbara was a lovely welcoming host.
This four bedroom apartment on a quiet street in Florence is delightful. It is well appointment with nice decorations. There was free street parking that was always available. The only "knock" I would give the listing is that the living room/dining room/kitchen area does not have air conditioning. We were traveling during a particularly hot time of year and I imagine during cooler times, one could simply open the windows in that area and it would be perfectly comfortable. I certainly don't blame the weather on the host, Barbara, she was great! It would have been nice though, if the listing had been a bit more clear. The bedrooms each have their own AC unit and are comfortable. We used the garden a bit. The pool was perfect for sitting and relaxing, although the mosquitos were pretty bad in the garden area (again, not the fought of the host). I would certainly stay in this apartment again on a trip to Florence. Thank you, Barbara!
This place was old, stinky, dirty and the owner was not nice. We had to get another place to stay because my daughter is allergic to mosquito bites and we killed at least two dozen in the first 15 minutes. The A//C never felt like it was on and opening windows was not an option because the breeze and moisture made the rugs stink of cat urine( or ,at e it was the balcony that reeked. There was nothing to hand wash the dirty wine glasses with and no paper towels. Barbara denied any foul odor in the apartment and said the dead ants all over the window seals were gnats, she also was not willing to give me back at least half of my payment and we never even slept in the beds. Would never recommend……
This was a great place to stay in a lovely quiet location on the outskirts of Florence. The apartment and grounds were amazing. Barbara was an excellent host
Barbara provided us with one of the most wonderful rental experiences we have EVER had! There aren't enough words to describe how beautiful the home is! We were only 2 people and only used a tiny portion of the huge home (4 br 4 ba) but it was lovely to be able to spread out! Every bedroom was so gorgeous, it was hard to finally settle on one but we had the BEST views so that was a good choice! The kitchen was very accommodating, had everything we needed (even cooked a couple of nights!).
The neighborhood was beyond beautiful: quiet, off the beaten path (for Florence), walking distance to a nice little grocery market, restaurants, Boboli Gardens, Arno River, and shops. It took some walking but it was all do-able.
Barbara was a kind and gracious hostess. Didn't speak English and I don't speak Italian but we got very good with our translation apps!
Highly recommend this lovely home.....and Barbara!
