Cottage located at the gates of Sologne, in the heart of the Blois-Chambord destination. You are 10 km from Chambord, 7 km from Cheverny, 18 km from Blois and 35 minutes from Beauval Zoo. Ideal starting point for magnificent excursions and discovering the Loire Valley with its large and small castles, its gardens, its cellars and its vineyards. You can criss-cross the paths on foot or by bike via the many arranged circuits.

Housed in the old barn of a pretty Solognote farmhouse that has retained all its old-time charm with its exposed framework and half-timbering, the cottage offers a comfortable and charming living space that can accommodate up to 6 people.
Ground floor: 1 Living room / Living room / Kitchen of 40 m2, 1 bedroom with 1 bed (160x200), 1 bathroom (shower), 1 separate toilet.
Upstairs: 1 Bedroom with 2 beds (90x190) + bidet and sink, 1 Mezzanine with 1 bed (90x190) 1 bed (120x190). Electric heating + wood stove.

Perfect cottage in the Loire

We really enjoyed our stay in Fontaines-en-Sologne. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you would need and also has a barn area with a table tennis table, badminton and boules which we enjoyed playing. The gite is in a really peaceful location but it is close enough to the village and attractions. We particularly enjoyed the Grand Chambord natural swimming pool so would highly recommend this on a hot day. We also visited Beauval Zoo and Cheverny Chateau which were both excellent. Both Mme Louchard and Marie Claude were very welcoming and were easy to communicate with. We would definitely return!

A lovely hidden cottage, yet close to all the Chateau and attractions. Very quiet and peaceful, with a well planned kitchen. I would say basic French is essential, but all the locals and the key holder were very patient and friendly, tolerating our rusty school French. We hired bikes from Jadi Vert in Bracieux, no english but very friendly and cheap bicycles that we used to cycle into Bracieux with our children on quiet roads to buy our bread and croissants every morning. We were unlucky with the weather, but the wood burner was an absolute joy at the end of a busy day sight seeing. This cottage was excellent value for money and its rustic charm and location near an authentic French village not over run with tourists (like us! ) Was perfect! Wifi worked but fluctuated - fine if you are holidaying not working. Beds firm but comfortable. Thank you Madam we loved our stay.

We had an amazing stay at Mme Sol’s house over Christmas. Unfortunately car trouble meant we were without transport but we spent the time relaxing, enjoying the full kitchen, comfortable lounge, fireplace, games, table tennis and badminton. The house is beautifully furnished, warm and fully equipped - everything has been thought of. Mme Sol and Mme Louchard checked in to make sure we were OK and provided advice and also bikes so we could travel to the village. We wished we could have stayed longer - maybe next time!

Lovely secluded house.

We had a wonderful week here in November. A beautiful, quiet setting in a large woodland clearing. Lots of wildlife, especially deer. The house is warm, comfortable and well equipped. It's an excellent base for exploring the many chĂąteau, the lovely city of Blois, and the brilliant zoo at Beauval. We plan to visit again.

Perfect French cottage in the middle of the Loire valley

This cottage couldn’t have been more perfect. The serene, peaceful location is close enough to drive to town but completely private backed by beautiful pasture and forest. The host was very responsive and friendly. The location is central to get to anywhere in Loire valley or Paris in 2 hours. Chateau chambord is only 15 mins from this cottage. While the location does require renting a car to get around, it is well worth the peace and privacy you have. You truly feel like a local staying here! Would definitely go back. Inside clean and well appointed And so beautiful!

An enchanting cottage

A beautiful cottage nestling in a clearing in the forest. Peace and tranquillity abound. Even though the cottage is away from it all it is ideally placed for visiting all the glorious chateaux in the area. The property is well equipped and tastefully furnished making it a real home from home. We recommend it to anyone wishing to visit this area for either a long or short stay.

Absolutely Perfect

We could live in this property as our home. It is beautifully decorated and has everything anyone could possibly need for a short or long stay. If you just want to stay at home and relax and recuperate from a hectic year or if you want to get out and see the sights, this gĂźte is perfect! It has the sweetest atmosphere and so much natural light. Totally refreshing! Marie-Claude is the sweetest and kindest hostess. We recommend to all!

Peace and quiet guaranteed.

Beautifully decorated and well equipped cottage in a very quiet, rural location. Well placed for visiting a number of chateaux. The nearby village of Bracieux had a selection of small shops and a chocolate factory!

A really beautiful , clean property, and a very peaceful location. On arriving we didn’t have access to the internet but this was quickly sorted by the owner Madame Sol. We would definitely recommend this property for a getaway from it all vacation.

Truly away from it all

Charming cottage, genuinely isolated with absolutely no neighbors anywhere nearby. Huge field just outside where deer like to show up in the morning and at dusk. Well equipped, and the ping pong table is a plus. Finding a nice long walking path through the forests is a snap. Very peaceful.

mooi huis en omgeving, maar heel warm

We hebben genoten van onze vakantie en de vakantiewoning. Het is een fijne en goed ingerichte woning, in een hele stille en mooie omgeving. We hebben de eerste dagen mooie fietstochten kunnen maken, maar daarna werd het veel te warm. We dachten een vakantiewoning met airconditioning gehuurd te hebben, maar dat betrof een kleine mobiele unit op Ă©Ă©n van de slaapkamers bovenin de woning. Daarom zijn we eerder vertrokken dan gepland.

TrÚs bon séjour

IdĂ©alement placĂ© entre Cheverny et Chambord, le gĂźte Ă©tait bien adaptĂ© Ă  notre court sĂ©jour (3 nuitĂ©es). Calme absolu, bien Ă©quipĂ©, nous avons mĂȘme eu la chance de voir 2 biches paĂźtre dans la prairie qui jouxte la maison. Les 2 chambres d'Ă©tage ont un accĂšs "raide" et assez bas de plafond, donc Ă  privilĂ©gier pour des enfants. Nos petits-enfants ont adorĂ© le cĂŽtĂ© "cabane" selon eux de la mezzanine. La 2Ăšme tĂ©lĂ©vision dans la chambre du bas a permis de les laisser choisir cette mezzanine non isolĂ©e (autre que par un rideau) de l'espace de vie du sĂ©jour en bas plutĂŽt que l'autre chambre. Nous avons Ă©tĂ© autorisĂ©s Ă  accĂ©der au gĂźte puis en repartir selon des horaires Ă  notre convenance en suivant la procĂ©dure indiquĂ©e qui a parfaitement fonctionnĂ©; une bouteille nous a mĂȘme Ă©tĂ© offerte ! Merci ! Les propriĂ©taires Ă©tant absents en cette pĂ©riode de congĂ©s scolaires, nous ne les avons pas rencontrĂ©s.
