Nestled deep within the Olympic Peninsula along the Hoh River—between the Olympic Mountains and the Ocean Pacific beaches—the Hoh House offers an ideal mix of relaxation and adventure, surrounded entirely by protected wilderness.
Step onto old-growth forest trails, explore the coast, paddle the river, or simply rest in quiet comfort— after a day in Olympic National Park.
The Space:
The Hoh House features a spacious open-plan layout, with two (2) high-ceiling bedrooms—one opening onto a private deck—at one end of the home. At the other, stand a fully equipped kitchen with an attached bar and a full bathroom with a large soaking tub and hand shower. An outdoor shower overlooking the forest is also available.
The expansive central dining and living areas—with locally milled Douglas Fir floor and abundant natural light—create a warm transition between the two sides of the home, giving the space the feel of a contemporary loft in the heart of the rainforest.
In the yard on each side of the house, two spacious decks— catching the shifting seasonal light as it filters through the trees—offer ideal spots for morning meditation, fresh-air relaxation, and effortless outdoor entertaining.
A wooded path on the property leading to the river’s edge, offers a private access to the Hoh for peaceful reflections by the water and fun adventure.
Guest access:
The Hoh House sits on five acres of private land, featuring scenic trails that lead to the Hoh River and adjoin protected Nature Conservancy land.
Inside the house, the Wi-Fi is strong enough for streaming and video calls, and most carriers provide reliable cell service. The widescreen Sony 4K Fire TV comes equipped with Amazon Prime for your entertainment. For quieter moments, explore our extensive library, featuring art books, poetry, and local history to enrich your stay.
An outdoor outlet is available for guests who wish to plug in their EV charger.
Power & Preparedness:
Brief power outages can occur in this area. For your comfort, we provide extra blankets, flashlights, and water storage. Please note that we do not offer refunds for power outages, and the property does not have a generator.
Other details to note:
The nearest town, Forks, is a 30-minute drive away. We recommend shopping for groceries before your arrival.
Pet policy:
• We love dogs and welcome them (except pups 6 months and younger).
• We unfortunately do not accept cats due to family and guests’ allergies & sensitivities.
• Vaccinations/flea/tick protection must be up to date.
• All dogs must be on a leash while outside.
• Don’t forget to pick up after your pets.
• Pets are not allowed on bedding and furniture.
• Please do not leave pets in space unattended unless in a kennel.
• We reserve the right to charge an additional $75 fee if we find significant shedding on furniture and bedding after your departure.
• As well, additional damages fee may be charged for any extremely excessive shedding, soiling or damage caused by unsupervised pets.
House rules:
• Guests / Occupancy — only registered guests listed on the reservation are allowed on the property. No additional guests or visitors are permitted at any time. Parties or events are strictly prohibited.
• No commercial photography and filming allowed.
• No outdoor fire pit use.
• Please remove your shoes indoors to avoid marking the wood floors.
• Only flush toilet paper — the property has a sensitive septic system.
• Do not put food waste down the kitchen sink drain — There is no garbage disposal.
• Please do not use hair dye or color treatments in the bathroom tub. Use the outdoor shower instead.
• Kindly protect linens and bedding from makeup or hair products while sleeping.
• Do not handle the owner’s kiln or personal supplies in the studio area or open the overhead garage door.
• We’re part of a peaceful gated community — please stay within the property lines and avoid walking near the neighbors’ driveways.

Safety considerations:
• Nearby water, like a river: The Hoh River is a fast-moving body of water. Please supervise children closely at all times when they are in or near the river, and never leave them unattended.
• Potentially dangerous animal(s) on the property: The Hoh Rainforest is a wild natural habitat. You may encounter local wildlife—including elk, black bears, and, on rare occasions, mountain lions—on the path to the river. Stay aware of your surroundings and keep a safe distance from all animals.
