The hotel was beautiful, pool view was amazing. Sean was always present and amazing. We did go during spring break which brought in a very ghetto crowd on the street. Any other time of year would be great. But when we walk back from dinner and see fights break out, not good. That`s no reflection on this wonderful hotel, spring break is the season to see a sh*t show, so avoid or if that`s your thing go for it.

Nice location and views, but...

I like this hotel very much. The location is great, and the rooms have balconies with great views. However, they may not service your room everyday so you must check that. Also, my bathroom had an issue with very tiny insects crawling around on the countertop. Also, the beach is nice, you get 2 beach chairs which are not very comfortable, there is no table to place your items so things must sit in the sand or ask for an extra towel. An umbrella is $30 extra which is ridiculous.

I stayed at Hotel Maren during Spring Break (which I was not part of) and I felt very safe and far enough away from all that action. I took an Uber from the airport and back again and the drop off location was convenient. We were told we received an upgrade to our reservation. The upgrade was a handicapped accessible room. (Not needed) The water in the bathroom sink was not hot. I called the desk and someone was sent to check it out immediately. I was told to turn on the water in the sink near the refrigerator and the bathroom sink at the same time and it would be hot. (It did get warmer) Because the shower was handicapped accessible the water (not very hot) runs out onto the bathroom floor. I think a longer shower curtain would be helpful but I was given extra bath mats and towels to soak up the water. Overall, I was happy with Hotel Maren and would stay there again.

We asked for a beachfront premium room with a balcony. We got the top floor with a spacious balcony with a spectacular view of the ocean. Sean, the primary bellman was attentive, friendly and had a solution to every question. The room itself was very comfortable and spacious. My only concern was with the restaurant. It was very small and it's management had just been taken over by so new company. The service was VERY slow and the staff was grumpy. It seemed the kitchen had trouble keeping up with the very few orders they were getting.

Pros: ocean front balcony room had great views of the water and the room was good in size. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom has been updated and adequate. Staff was pleasant. Cons: hotel restaurant food not very good. Would recommend eating elsewhere. While the staff was pleasant they were not knowledgeable. Often provided incorrect answers to our questions. Hotel provided coupons for their specialty cocktail that was nice, however, the only option was vodka with a mixer such as lemonade, soda, water, etc. Not sure what is special about that. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but for the price per night I would not recommend the hotel as there are many others in the area to choose from.
