The host requires you complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks, and take out the trash
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
-Start a load of towels in the washing machine on the highest temperature setting. -Please clean out the fireplace, outdoor fire pit, and grill if used.
-Please set the thermostat to the Cooling Function at 75 with fan on Auto in the Spring and Summer months, and set to 60, with heat on during Fall and Winter months
-Please advise if any beds/rooms were not used or if any damages occurred during your stay. Most importantly, please inform us 1-day prior to checkout if you intend on leaving before 10:00 am.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

Venomous Snake Bite / No phone to call 911 in an emergency

As much as we loved the home & the cleanliness of the property this is a very unsafe property to stay in. During our stay, our eight year-old son was bitten multiple times by a venomous copperhead snake at the garage door of the property. There was no phone inside of this property to call for help during our emergency & no cell phone service. Thank God that my husband was at the property with us and not at the grocery store so he was able to rush us to the small Angel hospital in Franklin, from there, our son had to be transferred to Mission Hospital in Asheville, where he spent some time in ICU. I tried communicating multiple times with the property manager and VRBO to let them know what was going on with our son’s condition. Unfortunately neither VRBO or the property manager seemed to take this issue seriously or showed any kind of genuine concern about our sons condition. We paid for a home that we were unable to stay in because we were an hour and a half away in Mission Hospital over in Asheville. Followed by having to book a different rental upon his discharge from the hospital because we were not cleared to travel home for another week. When we returned to the property to get our belongings to check into our new rental, we had an incident with a second venomous copperhead snake, which attempted to bite my husband. Please beware that this property is riddled with these venomous snakes and there is no phone or phone service to call for help in an emergency.

Cozy mountain cabin!

My friend and I picked this cabin for our girls’ weekend and it was just right! Clean and comfortable with gorgeous mountain views. The hot tub worked great and the house was fully stocked. The location is perfect too - close to several towns within driving distance. Be prepared for mountain driving! The cabin is up a steep winding driveway, so if you have a trailer or U-Haul you might need to plan ahead. All in all a great stay!
