I was extremely disappointed with this hotel. We checked out the same night. Here are the issues. Unsafe parking lot. Parking lot is not lighted Hotel gave us one set of towels. Asked for more which they gave us but not enough washcloths. They didn’t have any washcloths available because they were being washed. In addition to the card key we were given a key for a padlock which screams this is not a safe hotel. Marijuana smell in the hotel. Light flickering in the room TV not working. The hotel had a New Year’s Eve party and it was communicated but they didn’t communicate the party was going to be right next to our room and the party will last to 4-5 am in the morning. I requested a refund but the manager said they don’t give refunds and this issue can take months before it is resolved. They offered a credit when I already indicated I felt unsafe. They also charge you upon checking in. I highly recommend not to stay at this hotel. I am currently disputing these charges.

I came to St. Croix for my birthday & after carefully reviewing all stays around, reading reviews I chose to stay at the Fred. The first day we went down to the bar around 8 pm, the bartender served us 1 drink & let us know she would be closing early. She then closed to sit at the bar & drink with friends for the rest of the night, serving them & herself. The next night we saw her at another bar a couple feet away from the Fred after leaving there we went back to the Fred which she happened to be there after as well. It was me & my boyfriend, a couple other folks there & she seemed to be looking for something before coming to us asking if we seen a key, we responded no because we didn’t, she proceeded to ask again & we said no, do you need help looking for them, we got up looked around our seated area and nothing, she asked again before letting us know that she ”knows we got them & there’s cameras” I proceeded to let her know we don’t & that she can review them if she wants. At this point I was getting upset because how dare she accuse guest of stealing. We asked the other bartender to put a football game on for us (the lady heard us) & she did, the lady sat across from us starring us down for about 6 minutes before aggressively getting up & turning it off on purpose. I was told she was the supervisor bartender & she was suppose to be on the clock this night, not drunk again. I ended up leaving & got another hotel with NO REFUND YET when promised 3 weeks ago by the higher ups

For the past 3 years I have stayed at this hotel back to back minimal issues, this will be my last at the Fred’s the experiences was terrible, no breakfast, restaurant closed, no bar tender for your order although I sat at the table for 25 minutes, left and went somewhere else for service, on day seven of check out, to get to the airport, the door of my room was locked and I was unable to get my luggage, the receptionist had no idea how to get the door unlocked it took an hour to get it finally open, and I was in panic mood to catch my flight, made it to the airport just in time. No longer have an interest to stay at The Fred’s.
