Great hotel close to downtown Galena.

Great hotel, very close to Galena and Ulysses S Grant's former home. Breakfast was very good. Rooms were spacious and clean. Got a good night's rest. Very quiet.

The under the sea suite I booked was nice, but the air filters for the heat and air were clogged and I ended up cleaning them out and the fish tank was extremely dirty both inside and out, the outside tank needed to be washed and the inside had a lot of fish poop in it, there were some lights out in the room also and the ceiling tiles in the hall looked like they had water damage, and we couldn’t get an signal on the WiFi for the room but we stayed only 2 nights, the room was nice otherwise and had a nice view to the woods behind it.

The keys to our door weren't working when we arrived and had to wait for them to reset the keys. The door at the other end of the building didn't lock, so anyone coukd just come in.The room next to us there was a lot of yelling and lo7d music throughout the night and into the early morning.

The staff were absolutely amazing. Very friendly. The room was clean and big. The only problem was the bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable. I ended up sleeping on the couch in our room. But some people enjoy hard beds. Overall we had a great stay.

Avg no thrills hotel.

Hotel was ok for a night or two. Nothing exceptional. Wasn’t spotless but wasn’t dirty either. The breakfast below average compared to most major chain hotels. Wasn’t refilled and breads were stale.
