The staff was friendly. The bathroom was clean. The bed, bedding, and pillows were comfortable. The close proximity to downtown was convenient. The atmosphere was homey. However, there appeared to be dog hair on the bedding. It was suggested to park across the street, but there was not parking available at any time that we came or left the hotel, so we had to park on the street around the corner. The room and bathroom were not what we were expecting based on the pictures online — but now I see the individual room descriptions online. I was not aware of this prior to booking and would not have paid the price I paid if I had known what we were getting into. We were assigned to room number 2, which I did not specifically choose when we booked online through Expedia. We essentially rented a single room in a large house for two nights, costing us 1/3 of my entire months mortgage. I thought there would be a fridge in the room — there was not. I had to put my expressed breastmilk in the community fridge available for all guests, which made me uncomfortable. We were in Galena for a romantic weekend, but could hear other guests through the walls. The bathroom was incredibly small — based on the pictures online we thought we’d have a large tub in our room, but that was not the case. It very well could have been my own misunderstanding when I booked through Expedia; I probably wouldn’t have rented this room if I had known what we were getting into.
