I booked a King bed with a pull-out sofa and an ocean view balcony through Expedia, which is what I paid for and expected. When I arrived, I was given a room with two queen beds, no balcony, and no ocean view.
When I asked the front desk about the mistake, I was told they had oversold the King rooms and that their system did not show I had booked an ocean view balcony. The staff offered no solution, no room change, and no compensation, and essentially said there was nothing they could do.
Overselling rooms and then refusing to fix the issue is unacceptable. I did not receive what I booked or paid for, and the lack of customer service made it worse. I would not recommend this hotel if you care about getting the room you actually reserve.
Expedia was no better I contacted Expedia for help and was told they tried to call the hotel but “could not get ahold of them.” After that, I was told there was nothing else they could do. No refund, no partial credit, no compensation—nothing.
I was left stuck in a room that did not match my reservation with zero support. What’s the point of booking through Expedia if they can’t resolve issues when the hotel fails to honor the reservation? Very disappointing experience and I will think twice before using Expedia again.
