Let your relaxation begin at The Lighthouse! Perfect for a girls' weekend or family getaway, we are within walking distance of the Seawall, beach, restaurants, bike rentals and more! Built in 1924, our lovely home features original hardwood floors and large windows for incredible natural light. Our kitchen is well stocked for cooking, where you'll find new appliances, toaster, blender, hand mixer, coffee maker, and all of the tools you need to enjoy a relaxing meal at home after your island fun. When you finally give in to the day's end, tuck yourself into the gorgeous fourposter queen-sized Rice Bed in the front bedroom, where you'll find a TV hidden in the wardrobe. The second bedroom has two comfortable twin beds with cubbies of games and books for the kids and family. There is even a pack n play for your little one! The bedroom windows have black out shades for late morning snoozing. The living room sofa pulls out to a queen sized bed for extra sleeping space. We have a full-sized washer and dryer for your use. You'll find a patio table and chairs in the fenced back yard to enjoy the sea breezes with your morning cup of coffee or evening cocktails. Enjoy the convenience of a 3-car private driveway bordered by beautiful flowering vines. This home is a top/bottom duplex, with the rental unit upstairs. Owners are not present during your stay, so you'll have privacy in the home and yard. We look forward to sharing our island retreat with you!

We had a great weekend! The location was perfect…close enough to enjoy Galveston’s culture (bike ride on the nearby seawall), character (gardens along the street) and liveliness (Mardi Gras parade) yet the home allowed us to escape to a quiet and relaxed neighborhood and pace. Well decorated and cozy. When we walked in to the entry hallway, my son asked “what smells so good?”…it’s the smell of the old pine wood floors and stairs…nostalgic! The sunlight coming through the living room windows made for a perfect reading spot. Angela was great and attentive!

Nice little cozy house, perfect for a small family. Conveniently located, with great neighbors. Everything we used worked as it should and house was very clean. Curb appeal lacks a little but the backyard was perfect for us. Inside you feel cozy and comfortable. Would definitely stay again. Fadt communication with host even though it was only on my initial message, I didn't need anything more. 10 out of 10 for me

Angela is a wonderful host and overall we enjoyed our stay! The home is well located and stocked with everything you could need. She was very responsive to all requests and issues.The only reason I removed a star was because there was a dead roach on one of the beds when we arrived and we later found a live roach on the wall after returning from a night out. Angela did offer to allow us to cancel the remainder of our trip with a refund, but switching to a hotel wasn’t in our budget so we opted to stay. In addition, we had issues with the internet which was stressful for the family but Angela did address it by having the company come out and it was fixed by our final night. A partial refund in acknowledgment of the internet and pest issues would have been appreciated.

Good times

We first drove thru the neighborhood, I was concerned. Some of the places are not in very good shape. The hood looks very ghetto. But when we arrived at our place, it was clean and cozy. Spoke to a few neighbors and they were elderly and seem to be in good spirits, there places were nice and updated. So dont judge the book by its cover. Curb appeal was horriable, but inside was exactly what was needed. Had a great host. Very helpful and quick to help. Enjoyed our time for sure.

Island Tranquility

From the moment we opened the door we felt so relaxed. The cool tan and turquoise decor gave the relaxing beach destination vibe. The location is spot on for the beach and the Strand. The hostess was quick to respond to questions and was great at providing island ideas before our arrival. Can't wait to stay again.

My friends and I went to Galveston for the weekend and had a blast! This property was perfect for 4 of us with a queen bed, 2 twins, and a couch. I would recommend and definitely will stay again. Host was great and helpful as well. Enjoy!
