This hotel was a good hotel to stay the weekend in. The room we had had a balcony with a side ocean view that was actually really good. We had a perfect view of the Pleasure Pier and plenty of the beach to see. The staff were friendly. The only real complaints I had were the water pressure in the shower was not good and the breakfast needs a major upgrade. We will be staying at this hotel again.

they double charged me for room and will not refund the money... they charged me for two nights... the staff was rude. the room was to expensive. they charged me for parking and room damage that was never refunded... will never stay at hilton after this hotel.

It's got a great location! Right across from the beach, we had corner room with a balcony. Couldn't have asked for a better room location. But....the pillows suck! Even with 2 they are flat as a pancake. I reserved a king but we got a queen. Only 2 elevators for the entire Tru hotel. While the breakfast selection looked plentiful there were way too many screaming children in the area to fully enjoy a breakfast.

I purchased ocean view balcony room on Expedia but when I checked in they told me, even though Expedia shows ocean view balcony, you do not actually get an ocean view balcony. She gave us a room with a view of the pool…which was full day and night with soooo many kids and loud. I’ll pass on this hotel in the future.

Tru Galveston with Rude front desk girls

The hotel was very packed and the fact that one little pool was for both connecting hotels was very crowded with kids. Kids running up and down the hotel and halls all times of the night screaming. The staff/front desk was very rude and dry. They charged me 50.00 during check in but didn’t inform me of the parking cost until I asked. As a Hilton member the perks I get at other hotels I did not get at this One. I asked for an ice bucket and the girl at the front desk basically threw it at me. The next morning I asked for a late check out 11:30 or noon and another girl at the desk told me it doesn’t matter if I’m a member or not nobody is getting a late check out. I will not be back to this hotel ever.

The staff was very nice. They were a little pushy in trying to sell additional Hilton packages. The pool is way smaller than the pictures. Lots of families and the water was a little green. The floor we were on smelled like dirty diapers. We had a room with a balcony but the chairs were old and not very comfortable. Overall a decent hotel but not worth the money I paid.

A possibly a little less than standard hotel experience. Small and probably unimportant things like hotel room cleaning never happening for the four days we were there, and cold coffee in the coffee machines early in the mornings. Complementary breakfast was kinda good if you know where to look.

Good stay overall, but a bit misleading

Overall the stay was good, the staff was friendly and courteous but I mainly had some issues with the room itself. The toilet seemed to have an issue with flushing. I called the help desk who said they'd send somebody but I guess they never did since it had the same issue throughout the rest of the stay. Once flushed it'd take a while to re-fill. I can't confirm if that's normal for the hotel as it looks they try to be eco-friendly, but I've never experience that in any other hotels. Also, the views of the rooms were a bit misleading, in the pictures it looks like you're paying for one facing the ocean directly while I got assigned a room that's facing the ocean from the side. Not a huge issue, but it'd be nice if they make that more clear in the description. Still, overall I do think I'd stay here again.
