This property was within decent walking distance to many good restaurants and bars, rivers and canals, interesting churches, movie venues, the waterfront and its little aquarium, the train station, and the university. Right before we left, the grocery store below the apartment complex re-opened, which added further convenience.
There was street parking around a nearby corner, so we avoided paying parking lot fees, and it was relatively easy to get out of Galway by car to visit castles and attractions like the Cliffs of Moher (and, in season, the Aran Islands).
As to the apartment itself, it was nicely appointed--a good kitchen and excellent stove, full refrigerator, and comfortable living room, plus comfortable beds and two baths--a real bonus for the five of us staying together. Check-in and entry was accomplished via email and electronically--keypads, and a combination lockbox for the one apartment key--and the more complicated aspects of energy arrangements (e.g: the water heating system) were clearly explained by a note on the wall.
The only issue I had with this hands-off rental was that, because you don't see anybody unless you have a problem that a real human has to rectify in person, we couldn't store our luggage anywhere on the scene prior to check-in. Luckily, we managed to store it in the car, but...not exactly convenient for early arrivals without a vehicle. Also, because everything is done by correspondence, and you're dealing with a company rather than an individual owner, the vibe can feel a bit corporate, rather than as warm as owner interactions we've had in Ireland. But it's a good property in a convenient place, so that wasn't a real problem for us during our stay.
One bonus: we were in Galway during Halloween. No parade this year (2022) due to Covid resurgences, but our grandson brought a costume and got to trick-or-treat that night on a nearby street, and he was thoroughly welcomed and well-rewarded.
