Renewed historical lake-view villa with large swim spa whirlpool

An angel rising to the sky in a crown of flowers is the sight which greets the visitor in Villa Maria’s main entrance, a building which celebrates one of the most beautiful art nouveau examples of the Lake Garda and of Gardone Riviera.

The Villa in its present form was completed in 1903 over an oldest construction. Its architect Angelo Fuchs also built the nearby Villa Fiordaliso, which would go on to be the future residence of Benito Mussolini’s lover. Until the beginning of World War II, the Villa had been used by the Austro-Hungarian and polish gentry as a holiday home.

The Lake Garda area also enjoyed a reputation as a health resort due to its climate which guarantees fresh summers and temperate winters. In 1956 the Villa was inherited by the Countess Portalupi who restored it to its present state.

The Villa was built over an ancient fort and rises 80 meters above the lake, granting a breathtaking view of the entire Lake Garda basin. The grand systems of terraces are framed by the quintessential Mediterranean delicacies such as lemon trees, figs, raspberries, capers and many others. From the terraced gardens you can walk down to the large woods and discover true peace amongst the hundreds of palms, olives, magnolias, cedars and cypress trees.

Set on the gently sloping banks of Lake Garda, Villa Maria is surrounded by wide green spaces which encourage one to relax, indulge in a bath or a swim in the outdoor heated hydro-massage pool and dine with friends on the terraces all the while having the same spectacular view of the lake. The impressiveness of the San Nicolao church which separates the property from the small village of Gardone, gives one the illusion of being at the very heart of a private world, with the only the church bell’s ring to disturb the tranquillity. Every time you will look out of the window it will be like diving in a bath of light and colors reflected by the water. The incredible panoramic view will give you the possibility to admire how the winds, the sun and the rain modify the surface of the lake with infinite colours. Like the external facades, the bedrooms, living rooms and lecture rooms are decorated with valuable art nouveau paintings. Each room is furnished with chandeliers, fresco paintings and original art deco furniture.

Villa Maria offers you the unique sensation of private living in one of the most exclusive and beautiful residences on Lake Garda. All the restructuring of the Villa has been completed by a specialized architectural studio which has combined Italian design with maximum comfort while keeping the classic feeling.
For at least 10-nights and more stays we offer a quick cleaning and bed linen and towels change. If you have special needs or limitations, please let us know before booking so that we can advise you in choosing the most suitable accommodation.

Cleaning procedure: we sanitise all the house using product labeled with PMC ( Presidio Medico Chirurgico ), which are the only approved products to kill bacteria/virus.
Moreover on request we can make an Ozone treatment which is one of the world's best non-chemical sanitisers and smell removal. This machine allow to deeply purify a room, even all the textile, mattress, pillows… It eliminates all bacteria and virus that a previous guest might have left. The extra cost for this treatment would be calculated on request.

Pet are welcome but not more then 2 and we apply €150 for 1 pet and €225 for 2.
