It’s my favourite hotel to stay in whenever I’m in Penang. Friendly staff who pay good attention to your needs, clean rooms with good views and it’s located within walking distance of all the usual spots you love to visit. One area I feel they could improve is the breakfast. I remember the breakfast being decent in my previous stays but this time it was very disappointing.

Comfortable and good location

Really comfortable hotel. It’s big on eco friendly. We had a view of the sea which was really nice. The location is also great. It’s close to the market, restaurants and old part of Georgetown (and pubs if you are keen to venture out at night) so everything is close by. The Trishaw station is right next to hotel so it was easy if you are not up for walking or Grab. Would definitely stay there again

Citidel Penang is located near the old town and everything is walkable. There are plenty of parking on the parking decks within the hotel. Rooms are dated but acceptable based on the price point that we paid. We encountered multiple issues with one of the rooms. The hotel staffs responded to our requests/complaints quickly and resolved them in our satisfaction. I give them 5 stars for the service. The hotel restaurant offers good selections of the classic Malaysian breakfast. I would rate them good. Overall we had time during our 3D/2N in Penang and Citidel made our trip comfortable and easy parking.

Overall, this was an OK experience. The staff was very friendly, breakfast options were plentiful. However, we found our room to be quite underwhelming. The bathroom appeared older than what the pictures may have suggested. We also booked a massage that we found out to be quite more expensive than others in the local area, and the quality was not great. Overall, I would recommend this place for people looking for budget accommodation that is convenient, safe, and has friendly staff.
