Superb: the new word for 'adequate' :(

The physical location is unattractive..in a large commercial building complex and difficult to find. Our booking with the Zen Rooms could not initially be found. Without the use of our taxi driver's local phone, we may never have been able to clear up the confusion. With no internet/wi-fi or local sim card either, we could not contact anyone to discuss. Eventually contact was made and the manager met with us to resolve booking confusion and check us in. Paid taxi driver extra ringgit to stay & help us resolve issue, which he did. Booking was held on credit card, but manager stated it was a cash only requirement, so now needed to convert more $$ to pay for room. Manager was apologetic and personable throughout stay, but facilities could not come close to a "superb" rating. Clean and adequate at best; 5-star hotels are "superb", not a room that has a poor mattress, TV that only had 14 movies loaded on a memory stick (half of which were cartoons & non English speaking; no live TV at all), and an egg/salad sandwich for breakfast :(

The rooms are very clean, uniquely designed and have fantastic bathrooms. The hotel has a modern and welcoming lobby. The receptionist made check in a breeze and could not have been more friendly. There’s not much else to the hotel other than the rooms, lobby and breakfast; it’s small and quaint, but I would definitely stay here again!
