Nice but noisy

This is a really nice hotel in a great location, just a block or so from the Harbor Walk and close to numerous shops and restaurants. The rooms were well kept, the bathroom spacious, and service generally good. However, noise from the street and HVAC impeded sleep. Perhaps the water-view rooms or those on other floors are quieter--it is definitely worth asking. The mattresses also had some sort of plastic cover under the sheets, resulting in lots of squeaking with normal tosses and turns.

Surprise Hotel

This is a quaint, upscale hotel in a small equally quaint coastal town. They have a fire pit and rocking chairs, art work, and waterfront view.

Property is still good and new but appears to be run down in some areas. Big stains in carpet near elevator and elevator was getting scratched and banged up too. Hopefully in off season it will be repaired and maintained at a high level as that is one of the reasons we loved it. Staff was very nice and helpful.
