The room was old and shabby. Old fashioned shower - attached to two taps and you had to balance the temperature. The faux leather headboards were worn away where you’d place your head. The dining area (we didn’t eat there) and reception were refurbished and set an expectation for the rooms, which were sadly lacking. VERY expensive considering the condition. Would not recommend.
Really inexpert / shoddy maintenance. The first room I was given had a toilet that didn't flush and the shower was just a dribble of hot water. The second room had a functioning toilet but the shower hot water pressure was very low.
In both rooms the standard or repairs / maintenance was worse than DIY!
What a pity.
The staff, food, parking and decoration in the public rooms was all very good.
Compliments to both bistro and kitchen staff for great service during family celebration dinner. Reception staff first class. Comfort overall adequate throughout. Ideally placed as a base for a visit to the greater Glasgow area.
Only issue that may face you is all accomodation on 1st floor and no lift (that i am aware of) also a few steps from reception area to the bistro. Building is a typical 1960's built hotel.
Me and my fiancee stayed last year and the manager recognised us the food is excellent as are the staff a deffo stay again and again the balmoral suite very comfy and large spacious bathroom
Ignored when checking in by staff on their phone, in room no plug for bath and shower was either boiling hot or freezing cold, to hanging of wall only 1 screw, at breakfast the blonde girl basically went at snail’s pace and was not helpful in the slightest and also was on her phone most of the time-shocking stay will not be back.
The room was not in good condition- broken mirror, chipped bedroom furniture, shower broken and was not fixed when we were there. The room was extremely dated and needed lots of maintenance work done to make this a 3 star. I asked for shower to be fixed but this was partially done and we still couldn’t have a shower as the water was scalding/freezing. We were told that there were no other rooms/shower options available and no repair people who could fix this until the next day.
The carpet in the room is dirty, when walk on it bare foot the sole of your feet will be full of dirt, the heating is not working.
The tap water in the bathroom is too hot. Was cold at night I had to be given a portable heater which was stuffy due to the radiator in the room not working.
