We had an amazing few days at the hotel with our (almost) two-year old boy. All the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional. We were initially a bit worried about bringing our little son, but the staff went out of their way to make him feel welcome. Thank you! The hotel itself is lovely and clean, and is situated in the most stunning location. The view from the beautiful garden and patio is just amazing. This will definitely not be our last time!

Great spa and heaven if you’re into wine

We spent a family holiday here. Nice location just by Meiervik. We are satisfied with everything. Superb SPA with both indoor and outdoor pool. The breakfast was perfect. Great selection and high quality. The overall service level is really 5 Star. I was expecting a little bit more from the kitchen, might be that we stayed during a July when most restaurants have season workers. BUT it made up by their incredible wine list. If you are into good wines. This hotel is heaven.

We had a lovely time at Alter Meierhof. The room was big, clean and had everything you need including water and coffee free of charge. The reason I am only giving 4 stars is because of the Spa facilities. The only pool you can swim in was really cold and the 2 steam baths also didn’t really work as we thought it would. But if you want a private massage or facial treatment, I am sure this is a good spa.

Værelset var ok. Spa afdeling var ok. Maden var forfærdelig. Jeg har glutenallergi og havde skrevet det, inden vi ankom til hotellet. Det glutenfri brød der blev serveret til morgenmad var stenhårdt - og da jeg gjorde opmærksom på det, fik jeg at vide at sådan var det med glutenfrit brød . Aftensmaden var nærmest uspiselig og helt smagløs. Vi havde en oplevelse af at være 2 rangs gæster- især i aften restauranten. Og så synes jeg det er mærkeligt at man forventede drikkepenge til alt. For eksempel havde vi booket 2 massagebehandlinger, som jeg synes var dyre nok i sig selv, men der forventedes det også at man gav drikkepenge. Jeg synes , vi har betalt alt for mange penge i forhold til hvad vi fik. Vi har været på 3 og 4 stjernet hoteller, hvor vi har haft en langt bedre oplevelse. Så alt i alt var det en skuffende oplevelse og ikke hvad vi forventede af et 5 stjernet hotel.
