Classic German hotel experience. Shared bath, walk up, older but very clean rooms. Great restaurant and contintental plus buffet breakfast.

A review of an overnight stay at Hotel Krone

A wonderful stay at this olde worlde charm hotel. Frau Brendel makes one feel most welcome. The hotel is ideally situated diagonally across the road from the impressive basilica, 30metres from bus station and also 30metres from the (helpful) Tourist Office. The breakfast (included in the hotel tariff) was hearty.

Everything about the property was nice but the older staff member was nice but wasn’t very friendly about me not wanting to take the rest of my food with me because it would go bad before I could finish it. The young staff member girl with black hair was very helpful and understanding about my difficulties figuring out how the keys and parking worked.

The shared bathroom was a bit below standards. Based on the tiles color I would expect the last renovation was in the 70s. Time to redo it

This is a Gem!!

This was one of the best hotels I have stayed in on this trip! Room was clean, suited to my needs, OK, no aircon, but, a very robust fan was supplied. A booking problem was sorted out by the hotel manager and I was given a discount without even asking. Staff were excellent for service and friendliness. But, the manger was tops, actually advised me how to get into the city via tram, even took me to the tramstop and showed me how to use the ticket machine...it was all in German...mmmm.....without her help, that excursion would have been a non event. Getting back to the hotel, a waiting cup of coffee and an expectant ear to all I discovered....now, that is what I call a super host. The hotel is the oldest standing building in Mannheim, but it is a super stay I know every one will enjoy....would I stay there again?......you betcha!!

The hotel is very quaint and has German furnishings. It is really a cute place to stay to take in the German atmosphere and culture. The church bells, mass and church property was a delight to have since we don't hear the bells and see the grotto. It was beautiful setting and the owner was great. The food that they served is also authentic and reasonable.

The female member of staff was very helpful indeed

Pænt og rent. Gammelt hotel med bad og toilet på gangen. Holdt som det var i gamle dage, men det passer til byen. Kunne dog godt have tænkt mig noget mere venlighed fra ejerens side. Der var ingen steder vi kunne sidde og få et glas vin eller andet.
