This tranquil retreat offers a peaceful escape nestled away in the Shawnee forest. Enjoy the welcoming living room with an open floor concept, perfect for entertaining family or relaxing after a day of exploring. Feel free to enjoy the outdoors with a bonfire and do some star gazing. Or you can have some family fun with some foosball up in the loft. For you hunters there is a designated spot just for you outside for cleaning purposes. Please enjoy the binder it includes some local hotspots for you to visit and dine at. There's also a tidbit of History for you to enjoy about this property. We also encourage you to please and share your adventures in the binder. We hope you enjoy your stay!

The Cargo Hold is a gem: comfortable, spacious AND stylish. We’ve been in & out of, and through far southern Illinois many times, but never had the chance to explore Shawnee NF and Ohio Riverfront. Made for a great long weekend & this house was a perfect base - convenient to the interstate but also close to the hills, hollows & quaint towns that make up this region.
Stayed 2 nights in Jul 2026
