Great place to stay! Very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean. Rooms are nice and modern. They are on the smaller side, but that is noted when reading about the stay. Food was excellent. Will definitely stay here again and recommend to family and friends.

A bit too expensive for what it is

It is an okay hotel but I found it a bit too expensive for what it offered. The brand is ultra cool, young, urban professional. The vibe is great, the staff was excellent, but what the hotel offers in the hardware side of things, does not keep quite up with what it wants to be. The king size mattress was excellent though, so I keep them that. However, why the room only had a side table on one bedside and only one chair to sit, for a room of that size, is not clear to me.

Modern hotel about a 15 min walk form the Halifax waterfront. I enjoyed the check-in drink though a couple of areas of improvement. You check in at the bar and the check-in staff vs bartending staff ratio could be optimized - more bar staff vs check-in staff which caused a wait while checking in, while the bar staff did not seem to be serving any customers at the bar. As well, the AC and fridge in room were noisy which made it challenging for a restful sleep. If you are a light sleeper checking-in recommend ear plugs.

Great hotel! Fun and different. Very friendly staff. Nice bar which is also the reception. You receive a complementary drink when you check-in. The lobby had games you can play, a fresh water station & there was an outdoor terrace. There is also a grab and go store. Nice place to relax. The room was nice and clean. No closets but some hooks on the wall worked just fine. There was a small fridge, a cloths steamer and a safe. Comfortable bed. Water bottle refill machine on the floor near elevator. You can walk to the waterfront from the hotel. It was a wonderful experience and I would return there again. I recommend it!

I really enjoyed my stay here. The place is clean, the staff is friendly and helpful and there's a pretty good vibe around the place. They even have a DJ on weekends. What I didn't like were the rooms. It was ridiculous to see how they lacked basic hotel room features. There's no garbage cans, just a really small recycling bin in the washroom. There's no place for you to hang your clothes other than 6 hooks beside and behind the tv. There's only a bedside table on one side, the other person gets screwed over. There is a whole maybe 4 ft x 4ft room in the foyer that looks like it should house some sort of storage, maybe a closet or at least a rail hook system or anything but there's nothing but empty space there. Feels weird to have a hotel room so bare.

Overall, the hotel was nice and quite hip. We stayed for four days. Although we were told that there is no housekeeping, I would expect that at least they would empty the trash. However, they said to call if anything is needed. I do understand that they are trying to be environmentally friendly. The hotel is central and you can walk to the boardwalk and several restaurants. I would book there again.

The Moxy was a great hotel choice for our stay in Halifax. The amenities were clean. Service was wonderful. It is a bit far from the waterfront area if someone is elderly but it is definitely walkable or a short 5 min Uber drive. Free coffee and tea daily was a nice touch. We loved the stash closet with extra towels, facecloths, toothpaste, etc. There is a nice patio you can relax on after a long day of sightseeing. Would definitely recommend!
