The bedrooms are beautifully furnished with great beds and crisp bedding, where a good night’s sleep is guaranteed.
With so much to enjoy in the outdoors, wrap up and take a stroll around beautiful woodland, open fields and riverside walks. A short stroll will bring you to the River Tyne and a pathway takes you amidst stunning countryside as you walk along its banks. A steep pathway rises behind the cabin, and care must be taken, but the view from above across to the river is well worth the climb. Salmon fishing is particularly good in this part of the region, the owner himself being a keen fisherman. The lodge is a perfect place to stay for such an occasion and passes for the river fishing can be bought both online and locally. Out and about, this is a fabulous place to explore with so much to see and do. Set on the edge of the Northumberland National Park, the location is excellent for exploring the spectacular scenery of the north of England, the Scottish borderland and the Lake District National Park, which is just an hour away.
Just a short walk up and behind the cabin takes you across the A69 and onwards towards the historic Northumberland National Park. Here you can discover the Vindolanda Roman Fort, The Sill Landscape Discovery Centre and the world famous Sycamore Gap on Hadrian’s Wall. Also within a short walk is the pretty town of Haltwhistle, which is the geographic centre of Britain, here there is a sports centre and outdoor heated swimming pool, as well as Burn Gorge, also a selection of shops, bars and eateries. A must on the list to visit is the historic market town of Hexham, which boasts a stunning abbey, the oldest gaol in the country, and an abundance of eclectic shops, restaurants and pubs. Continue on to the beautiful Roman town of Corbridge, and meander round its boutique shops, art galleries and antique shops, or stop for a coffee after taking a stroll along the river. The Newcastle/Carlisle railway line, runs in front of the cabin. You can catch a train from nearby Bardon Mill station with a stopping service in each direction every 2 hours. The A69 is within easy reach giving easy opportunities to explore this historic region and onwards to Scotland by car. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
