Overall, we had a nice time on the trip. It was nice to have Kayaks and a paddle boat for the kids to use, televisions in most of the rooms and a nice dining table and sitting area looking out over the water. The entire back wall of the cottage is sliding glass doors which allowed for wonderful views and natural light. What I couldn't get over was the ants....everywhere. Inside, outside, on the dock, all outdoor chairs. I appreciate the fact that the cottage itself is very old and certain things were not without their charms, but I did not cook there. I also did not use the washer after I opened the door to find a critter scurry behind it. The host was very responsive anytime we reached out. I had family stay at another property through the same host and they experienced good customer service as well. I would consider staying at another property by this host in the future.

The location of this property was lovely. Upon entering the property you are hit with a humidity/moldy smell. The bathroom was nice and recently updated but the kitchen was packed with 1970’s dishes overfilling cabinets with insects, dust and mouse poop evident. We did not feel comfortable cooking there. The screen doors to the deck were off track and difficult to open/close and in need of replacement. We had asked about water toys before arriving and found kayaks upright and filled with water. We spent time dumping and cleaning them only to find life vests covered in bugs, mold and unsafe for use so we were not able to use the lake. Not worth the cost.
