first i was placed right next to where they were painting and plastering the hallway. the room was dirty. the next day they switched me to another room and floor but the room had a bad smell

First of all, they threw us on the floor, where they were doing construction, so the smoke alarm was going off all night and they didn’t tell us that the room key gets de magnetized. If you put the room key in your wallet or by your phone, which most people put their room key in their wallet or in their pocket with their phone. No such thing as housekeeping, even if you ask, I would never stay there ever again even if you pay me.

The room was fine until I used the rooms toilet which immediately plugged up. At 8:00 am I reported this to the front desk manager in person and left for the day. Upon returning to my room at 5:00pm the toilet was still plugged and had feces still floating around in it. I went to the front desk and the person there said he knew nothing about the issue, then he found a note that I reported it at 8am. He then said no one was there to address it so I asked for another room and he told me that wasn't possible, none available, so I started arguing with him and he reluctantly went off to call someone. Later that evening he came to the room with a plunger and unplugged it. After that we used it once more and it immediately plugged back up. So the next morning a different person at the front desk said she would have a new room for me when I return after 3pm. Again, the same evening desk manager told me he knew nothing about it so I started arguing with him and he again went off to call someone, and found out that they unplugged it again but did not give me a new room. I left the hotel the next morning and will never be back. Pretty said that I have to fight for a working toilet!!!!

Clean room, breakfast wasn't ready at 6:30 AM. Breakfast was starting at 6:30 AM, and this impacted our trip. 6 AM would be more reasonable, and it should be ready at the designated start time. No thermostat for heating and air conditioning, mattress was cheap (soft), the beds would have benefitted from having additional blankets.

Room carpet was not clean, bathroom tub was peeling from everywhere and my kids didn’t even want to look at it and they didn’t shower. All the ice dispenser and vending machine were out of order. We had to go to the Dollar General store to get water. Breakfast was terrible too, no hot oatmeal just the cereal with cold milk. Waffles and toaster was there. Apple juices and yogurt machine was terrible. Never again will ever book Wingate hotels in my life again.
