Disliked: Cleanliness
First the good - the house was ideally located. Parking was on the road outside, which is great in the middle of Harrogate. Unfortunately the bad - we were advised that the cleaner needed more time so our 4pm check in was delayed, the owner didn’t communicate this until the check in time. When we did get in, my elderly mum sat on the sofa, one of the legs was broken and the sofa fell backwards. She very nearly landed on her head as the back collapsed. It’s a click-clack sofa bed which was propped up on the radiator and not properly in ‘sofa mode’. We tried to fix the broken leg but it had obviously been that way for a while and half of the post that the leg screwed into was missing. The click-clack mechanism was faulty at best and failed regularly through our stay.Now the ugly - the place was dirty. The dust under the beds was several weeks worth. There was rubbish on the bedroom and bathroom floors. There is no way that the top floor had been cleaned at all. We did let the host know about all of this. He apologised about the sofa and said that the cleaner should have reported it. My other messages about the cleanliness of the house have been ignored. At the time of writing this review he’s had 10 days to reply.
