Beautiful hotel. Staff were average. I had booked two rooms and told the lady at Checkin that my friend would be paying for one room. I gave her my card. Then my friend gave her card, and she said she already charged me for both rooms. She didn’t tell us the location of elevator or anything else. I asked about breakfast. She said they had coffee only. I would not stay there again. An employee came out and was smoking drugs in front of hotel.

The ladies behind the counter this morning were absolutely fabulous! Very professional, easy to communicate with and very friendly. The room was really very nice and the bed was comfortable.

For an IHG property (which I generally flock to and enjoy), this one was a bit scary. Extremely outdated, rust in the bathroom; I did not feel comfortable staying here and question the cleanliness or lack there of.

Nightmare

Tub was rusted, looked like someone used the tub as a toilet. Door latch broken. A/C smelled like it was chain smoking cigarettes. Floor was sticky. And lastly, we asked for an extra towel and were told only two towels per room then all extra towels were being washed but gave me an extra hand towel.

The front desk staff was warm and welcoming. I was checked in quickly. The room I was in was dirty and worn out. The shower had many long curly black hairs in it, from a previous guest and a bunch of toenail clippings in the corner of the bathroom, also from a previous guest. The whole room needed updating. It has seen better days.

The suite was immaculate, spacious, and included a full refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, microwave and utensils. I was very happy with the cleanliness of the suite, it did NOT smell of smoke, the sheets and towels were fresh and the staff was more than obliging. I would definitely stay at Candlewood Suites in Windsor Locks for any future accommodations in Ct.

First and last time

Unfortunately we stayed here this weekend for a family trip to go to Six Flags and The Big E. The staff, I will say, were friendly when spoken to. However, I rented a suite for my family and the pull out bed from the couch was absolutely terrible and was basically like sleeping on springs and poles, so she ended up in our room the second night (as this is a 1 bedroom suite). The room we were given was handicap accessible. It was extremely outdated and smelled terrible. To add to this, we planned a hotel that had an indoor pool since mg daughter loves that part of family trips and they pool is down until “unknown date.” We have never stayed at this hotel or chain of hotel before and it will absolutely be our last time. I do not recommend after my personal experience for the price. Does not deserve to be in the 8 star range unfortunately

Overall it was a decent room. Right outside my window on the third floor was a huge light so the room never got fully dark. And housekeeping only comes once a week. So if you are there for a week. Not enough. Also we were right off the runway. So planes landing.

My Family and I booked a 1 bedroom suite to accommodate 3 adults. When we arrived we had a single room with a queen bed a rollaway cot that barely fit in the room. When we approached management about the situation we were informed that there was nothing they would do about the situation. We were told our room had been given away earlier in the day by another member of management.
