Beech and Dairy Cottages by Salt & City Stays can be linked via an internal door to create a spacious, flexible stay for up to six guests—perfect for extended families or groups of friends.

Guests will find 2 double, 1 twin and additional sleeping arrangements can be made on request. Both cottages include spacious open-plan living area, fully equipped kitchen, Outdoor dining area in the main courtyard, flat-screen TVs, Freeview, WiFi and everything needed for a comfortable countryside escape.

Dairy cottage, which has its own garden and patio, is a one-bedroomed stone cottage that comfortably sleeps three by adding a guest bed or cot. Both are available on request. The spacious gallery bedroom has a double bed and en-suite bathroom.

Downstairs is an open-plan living and dining area, with exposed original wooden beams throughout.

Dairy’s fully equipped fitted kitchen includes a fridge, electric oven and microwave, and looks out on to the cottage’s private garden.

An internal door links Dairy to Beech, a roomy two-bedroomed stone cottage that sleeps four. Beech nestles in the corner of the main courtyard, and boasts an outdoor dining area for four.

Downstairs, the open-plan living features a fully equipped kitchen, including electric oven and gas hob, fridge-freezer and microwave oven. Upstairs there is a double and twin bedroom. These comfortable bedrooms share a bathroom, which has a bath and shower over.

Enjoy summer evenings in the outdoor seating area, complete with a picnic table, offering views of the historic courtyard, Plumstone Mountain, and the serene duck pond. Guests also have access to the heated swimming pool, sauna, and gym, or can indulge in relaxing treatments at the on-site spa. The is an additional cost & booking is required for spa treatments.

Scolton Cottages is a great place for children; whether it`s playing in the adventure playground, firing shots into the football goal, or exploring the extensive grounds and activities in Scolton Manor estate next door, there are loads to keep young ones busy while you sit back and relax.

Guests have access to both cottages via an internal door.

Please note, the pool has classes which may limit access from time to time.

Additionally, there is a beautiful spa facility on-site that offers relaxing spa days, treatments, and afternoon teas. These services are available at an extra cost and can be booked directly with the spa team.

John and Noella live at Scolton Cottages and are always on hand should you need anything at all during your stay. Tom and the team at Salt & City Stays are available 7-days a week via your booking channel to answer any questions you may have before arrival. Scolton Cottages offer ample free parking and access to EV charging (additional cost for charging applies). The courtyard is a car-free zone, but you are welcome to unload outside your cottage before moving to the carpark. It provides a wonderfully safe space for children to roam.

The property is part of a charming complex with 10 cottages, all available for individual or group bookings. For larger gatherings, you can book multiple cottages by contacting Tom and the team at Salt & City Stays. Despite the shared amenities, the cottages maintain a tranquil and private atmosphere, ensuring a peaceful retreat even when other cottages are occupied.

The property is accessed via self-check-in, but if you plan to arrive after 8 pm, please let us know so we can ensure lights are on for you!

The swimming pool and sauna are free to use open Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 7pm, and 10 am to 6 pm on Sundays.

Spa treatments and access to the spa area (not including the pool and sauna) must be booked with the Spa team directly.
