No the room was not spotless. The carpet could’ve been swept, and there was a spit mark on the wall that should’ve been cleaned off. The management was very kind and helpful and so is housekeeping.

My husband booked this room for me as a respite getaway night because I have been primary caregiver for our son with severe special needs. I booked the room through Expedia and got to the hotel to check-in only to be told that they do not accept "locals" who book rooms. She said if I wanted a refund that I needed to take it up with Expedia. I'm already beyond stressed out prior to arrival and then told that the room I booked and paid for would not be available. I asked to speak to a manager and explain that I'm literally here to enjoy some quiet, get a full night's rest, and maybe watch a movie. The woman at the desk just looked blankly at me and said, "The manager will just tell you the same thing." I started to cry...because I not only had no room but could also possibly be out $90 if I could not convince Expedia to refund a "non-refundable" room. Add to that the stress of calling and spending precious respite time trying to get my money back. I think the woman took pity on me and begrudgingly allowed me to stay. Probably also because I kept pressing the issue. But what in the world?!?!? If this is common policy, I have never experienced it at any other local hotel in the area. Not every local is going to trash a room...some just need a break or a safe space to regroup and breathe.

The room was lovely everything was spotless! There were dog biscuits for my fur baby! Breakfast was a typical continental breakfast and much appreciated. What stood out was that in my hurry to hit the road as soon as possible due to the snow, I realized I had left my purse in the room. I called and Cleo who assured me they would go up and bring it down to the desk. I turned around and when I went in, there it was! I couldn’t say thank you in person but I really appreciated it.
