Tucked away in a rural setting between Hayle and Helston, Deugh an Chy is a much-loved Cornish cotta
Tucked away in a rural setting between Porthleven and Marazion, Deugh an Chy is a much-loved Cornish cottage that can comfortably accommodate seven guests. Embraced by open countryside, this charming holiday home offers idyllic strolls on the picturesque Godolphin Estate, owned by the National Trust, and lies conveniently close to a variety of stunning beaches.
Step into the inviting ground floor sitting room, adorned with exposed stone and beams, where the cosy ambience is enhanced by the wood-burning stove. Sink into one of the two plush sofas or armchairs and unwind in the comforting warmth. The sitting room features a Smart television, a Sonos sound system, and a convenient desk area. A door leads you to the terrace area, extending the relaxation outdoors. Spend evenings enjoying the array of books, games, and puzzles, or opt for an afternoon of outdoor fun by grabbing the badminton set, swing ball and other outdoor games from the waterproof box outside. Enter the kitchen/dining space, fully equipped for an ideal self-catering getaway. The well-equipped kitchen features an electric oven and induction hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, Sonos sound system, and underfloor heating. Gather around the dining table, seating seven guests, for delicious group meals. Enter the garden room adjacent to the kitchen and unwind while admiring the picturesque surroundings. Completing the ground floor is a family shower room equipped with a walk-in shower cubicle, wash basin, heated towel rail, and WC, along with a washer/dryer conveniently tucked away in the cupboard.
Heading up to the first floor, discover four comfortable bedrooms, each boasting charming rural views. Nestled in the eaves, bedroom four features a small double bed, suitable for single occupancy due to space constraints. Bedroom three is furnished with twin single beds, while bedroom two offers a king-size bed. Bedroom one presents a king-size bed and an en-suite offering both a bath with a hand-held shower attachment and a walk-in shower cubicle. The family bathroom on this floor includes a bath with an overhead shower.
Pass through the double doors from the garden room onto the delightful south-west facing terrace, overlooking the enclosed garden and expansive fields beyond. Relax on the garden furniture, perfect for soaking up the sunshine on warmer days or enjoying a barbecued meal. As you head down the garden, uncover several benches dotted around to help you catch the sun at different times of the day.
Perfectly positioned, the cottage offers easy access to the sandy coves of the Lizard, the captivating St Michael's Mount, the vibrant art scene and unique shops of St Ives and the delightful Porthleven offering a selection of restaurants, bakeries and a well-stocked little supermarket. Numerous nearby beaches cater to all preferences: Gwithian, renowned for its sand dunes; Church Cove, a favourite among young families; Perranuthnoe, boasting a delightful café; and Porthmeor in St Ives, a haven for surfers. Plus, the location is perfect for walking the Cornish coast path. Hop on the South West Coast Past at Rinsey and follow it up to Praa Sands or down to Porthleven. This stunning retreat presents an ideal getaway to fully embrace all that Cornwall has to offer.
