Standard accomodation

The room was a very standard for the price but had the advantage that mine was on the ground floor with a door that opened onto a small lawn (useful when travelling with a dog). The breakfast had a very good selection. The parking area was ample and the area felt secure.

Dog friendly?

We stayed here because it was described as dog friendly however there was no area for us to sit and eat dinner/breakfast with our small dog. The noise from other guests could be heard through the thin walls.

Good choice for a one night stop over

Campanile Hendaye is a convenient hotel for a one night stop. The reception staff are very pleasant and helpful. The room was functional and had coffee making facilities which was a bonus the only real let down was that the plug in the bathroom was broken and it wasn’t possible to have a bath.

A fairly basic hotel, not much around. Taxis are a rarity here, we waited for 1 hour at the station and made sure we ordered one the previous night on departure.

Map and directions were wrong on Expedia website by the time finally found hotel it had closed after my 11 hour drive! Message in French left on door and I don’t speak French so took me a total of two hours in pouring and freezing rain to find hotel and finally get a key to the room from an automatic box after I managed to work out the ambiguous message. Even more drenched and cold by now! Hallways to room smelled of cat pee although actual room was clean but very tired. Not worth over £62.00 per night worth more like £25 - £30. Not impressed.

Hotel could not find the booking when we arrived Reception very speedily accepted an error had been made and immediately made amends by finding me a room and guaranteeing that amount already paid to Hotels.com would be accepted.

Good value option

Nice clean hotel. Good bar restaurant . Freindly staff. Would be more convenient for people with cars as its a long ish haul into town/ the station takes about 25 mins on foot . However there are buses and a big supermarket nearby. It is a good base for exploring the area.

Great for short stop-over.

As usual, stopped 1 night on my way to Spain. This motel-style hotel is lierally 3 minutes drive off the motorway north/south. Rooms are smal but cofortablr e and the food in the restaurant excellent. A few minutes drve away is a fantastic sandy safe beah.

Find another place to stay.

THE bed and the overall place was not very clean. The bed had hair and the place had a weird smell to it. It had a Motel feeling in my opinion. I wouldnt recommend it. The place needs to be remodeled and the wifi was weak at moments. The service was okay, nothing out of the ordinary, its just that the place, the bed , the shower were so uncomfortable.

Hotel looks good from outside and easy to access

We had a bad smell in the room and the food at the restaurant was very poor. We will not go again
