About the property
Nestled within the rolling hills of Hay on Wye, Amberwood Lodge offers a refined rural escape with all the comforts of contemporary living. Architecturally striking yet beautifully understated, this secluded bolthole is designed for guests seeking tranquillity, luxury and immersion in nature. With panoramic countryside views and a commitment to sustainability, this is a stay you won't soon forget.
If you love the sound of this place, Cedar Lodge and Brackenfell Lodge are also available to book for large group.
The space
From the moment you arrive, you'll be welcomed by a sense of calm and seclusion. Surrounded by woodland and wide-open skies, the lodge's contemporary design blends effortlessly with the landscape. Inside, natural textures and clean lines create a soothing atmosphere, complemented by high-spec fixtures and carefully curated furnishings.
The open-plan living space is flooded with light, thanks to expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, and is ideal for unwinding beside the log burner or enjoying a quiet evening with a book. The fully equipped kitchen includes everything you need for simple self-catering, whether you're prepping a romantic meal or serving up local produce after a day exploring.
The ground floor is complete with a WC.
Upstairs, the generously sized super-king-size bedroom is a sanctuary in itself, complete with soft linens and views that greet you the moment you wake. Meanwhile, the second bedroom can be made up as either a super-king or twins. Please inform our Guest Services team of your preferred bed configuration at the time of booking. A complimentary travel cot and high chair for children under two, and an extra bed (for an additional cost) are also available upon request and should be confirmed when making your reservation.
The stylish family bathroom features a large waterfall shower and a stand-alone bath.
Outside, the private terrace offers spellbinding views across the meadow and the hills beyond, best enjoyed from the sun loungers or the hot tub, while the BBQ and firepit add to the experience.
The lodge blends beautiful design with family-friendly touches. Kids can explore secret dens, woodland swings, and meadows made for fairy-hunting, while parents enjoy thoughtfully curated interiors. Practicalities are covered too, from stair gates and high chairs to blackout blinds and travel cots, so everyone can relax in comfort.
