2025 Summer Vacation

Had a fantastic time! The house was beautiful and had literally every thing we needed. The kitchen was more stocked than any other VRBO we’ve stayed in, and was perfect with the wide open space and pool table right in the same big room. We rented a boat from Lake Chatuge Marina, and the boat fit perfectly on the floating dock, no problems whatsoever. The fire pit is as beautiful as the pictures show. We had one small glitch with the internet, but apparently a storm had knocked several other houses internet out as well, and the property management quickly had someone to the house to replace the bad modem and all was good in the WiFi world :-). The house is spacious and all in our party (8 of us total) said their respective beds were super comfy and slept great each night. The house is also super convenient to grocery, restaurants, local attractions, and obviously you can’t beat Lake Chatuge itself. We absolutely loved our stay and would highly recommend as a great choice!

Family vacation

We had a wonderful week at Living the Dream. The inside perfect for our family of 9. We were able to gather as a group or break off into smaller groups for catching up . The bunk room with the sunroom/porch was perfect for our 3 teens/tweens. The dock was a huge hit. We would definitely stay here again!

Things that that needs attention

There are an enormous amount of stairs at this house both insude and outside. There are 6 different levels on the inside of the house. Lots and lots of stairs. Not good for elderly people or folks with mobility challenges. There areits and lots of stairs outside and those stairs are not built to code , they are mildewy and slippery, and are not level. Outside stairs are a problem as well. The dock has no steps to get on it. That is a major hazard try to get on and off the dick from the yard. The outdoor fireplace area was a mess and the fire place tools were laying on the ground rusting. The exterior of the house including the hand rails was very dirty, with lots of visible mildew, cobwebs, leaves, mold, ex..The master shower pan did not drain and filled up with water immediately. One of the primary beds in its own bedroom was not make up at all and looked like someone had just slept in it. re are lots and lots

Mountain Lake Getaway

Location was great easy access to both Hayesville and Hiawassee. Scenic surrounds, wildlife and of course the lake was great to relax and enjoy nature, or sit around the fire pit with family and caught up while the kids chase lightning bugs. The house had plenty of space to sleep and entertain all generations with a massive kitchen island, pool table, ping pong, plenty of board games and much more!!! Internet WiFi worked great to stay connected if needed too.

Lovely and quiet place with amazing views. The porch was great for relaxation, watching the birds and the water/lake. We had fun roasting marshmallows in the fire pit. Wi-Fi was not an issue. Great communication with the property manager/owner.

great lake home. view of lake was great good size for a big family Fireplace was wonderful Over clean and well stocked, Outside deck does need some work. It needs a good pressure washing and the spider webs need to be taken care of Overall would stay there again

Big house on the lake

Big house, lots of room to hang out. First impression, 3 bags of dog poop right in front of the garage door that had clearly been there a while. Not so nice neighbors… within 10 minutes of having our boat delivered to the said dock(which is half falling apart and the rental guy said it’s the worst one on the lake) the neighbors complained that it was in their way?? It was on the end of the dock? We were “watched” all week… didnt care! House def needs some TLC and cleaning up. Only half of the grill worked so that was challenging cooking on it. We washed all pots and pans and plates before using… Loved the fire pit and rocking chairs area. Great for s’mores! Need more bath towels and lake towels. Great location , nice restaurants around. Would I stay here again ? Yes and hope they clean it up a lot!

Spring break 2022

We had a wonderful spring break with extended family. Backyard whiffle ball with a beautiful backdrop, hiking the trails, boating on lake Chatuge, games and family dinners. Memories were made and will be treasured.

We loved the house and the location. Also really enjoyed the fire pit. A little disappointed that the lake was so low. We wanted to fish but water was to low for that. The people of town were super friendly and stores were close by.

The house was very clean and had plenty of room for our big group. The kitchen was well stocked with all of the pots/pans/small appliances that we needed in order to keep our group fed and happy! The kids loved all of the gaming tables that the property offers. Thanks for a great stay!

My family enjoyed this home over Christmas. Although my wife was hoping to travel to the mountains from middle Georgia to see snow, the 75 degree weather suited me just fine. The home was comfortable with room for the nine of us. Greg was a pleasure to work with and we hope to return in the future.

Great week on Lake Hiawassee

Great house, great backyard, great location! We enjoyed our week stay with our 2 girls and 2 dogs! House had everything we needed and the back deck and backyard are incredible for enjoying the lake. We spent many afternoons floating on tubes off the dock and rented a boat for 3 days to explore the lake and enjoy some tubing. Highly recommend this property.

Second time staying here

This was our second time going to the living the dream home. And the second time was even better than the first. The location is amazing in Hiawassee close to town and grocery stores. Also extremely close to fun activities. Only 30 minutes from Helen and there is a great tubing Place only 15 minutes from the house in North Carolina. Greg the property manager also went above and beyond again. There was a small issue with our ladder at the pier but he was there right away to fix it so we could all go swimming. The water is crystal clear the kids were able to swim and fish all day. If you are considering staying here consider no more because this will be one of your best family vacations you will ever have.
