The Breakaway on Long Lake - Game Room + Bunkie + Covered Patio

Welcome to The Breakaway, our private lakefront cottage on Long Lake and our little slice of Northern Michigan with 100 feet of frontage and room for up to 11 guests. Newly updated and refreshed, the property sleeps 7 in the main cottage plus up to an additional 4 guests in our separate climate-controlled bunk house (“Bunkie”) that is located within our game room building, approximately 50 feet from the main house.

Start your morning with coffee by the water and the sound of the loons while watching the sunrise. Swim, fish from the dock or our fishing kayaks, take a turn on a stand-up paddleboard, or play lawn games. In the evenings, hang out around the fire table on the covered patio or play foosball, mini pool, or air hockey in the game room. End the evening with s’mores at our lakeside firepit under the stars.

Inside, you will feel right at home with an open living area and dining table perfect for family meals, games, or late-night card tournaments after a day on the lake. The cottage has everything you need for your stay, including a fully stocked kitchen, A/C, Wi-Fi, Roku TVs in each bedroom, board games, playing cards, a washer and dryer, two full bathrooms, and cozy bedrooms for winding down at the end of the day.

Sleeping Arrangements

Primary Bedroom: King bed with attached bathroom and laundry access. (New master bathroom refresh photos coming soon.)

Lakeside Bedroom: Queen bed with peaceful lake views.

Woodside Bedroom: Queen bed overlooking the trees.

Living Spaces: Open living room with lake views and a twin sleeper chair, large dining area, fully stocked kitchen with breakfast nook, and TVs in all bedrooms.

The “Bunkie”

A favorite space for kids and teens, the separate climate-controlled bunkie has its own cozy hangout feel.

Waterfront Access: 100 feet of frontage on beautiful Long Lake with a sandy, shallow shoreline and clean, clear water great for swimming.

Private Dock: Spacious dock with seating for reading, relaxing, or enjoying the sunrise over the water. Bring your own boat, or inquire about renting one.

Covered Patio & Firepit: Covered patio with fire table and outdoor dining for up to 10 guests, plus a separate lakeside firepit and deck overlooking the lake.

Lakeside Deck: Additional outdoor dining table with seating for 4 overlooking the water.

Lake Toys: 2 kayaks and 1 paddleboard included with your stay.

Pontoon Boat: Available for an additional rental fee.

Comfort & Convenience: Central air conditioning, Wi-Fi, blackout window coverings for restful sleep, BBQ grill, laundry access, and TVs in all bedrooms.

5-night minimum stay during June, July & August.

Please note: VRBO may display a standard notice regarding balconies or elevated outdoor spaces; however, The Breakaway is a ground-level, family-friendly lakefront property.

This cottage offers its guests barbecue grills, an arcade/game room, and a garden. The front desk is open around the clock.

This Hillman cottage is smoke free.
