Its barely ok

Overall, It was ok. There's no elevator. Its close to the airport, so theres a fair amount of jet noise. The water temp was touchy in the shower. It tends to run extremely hot. It took some finesse to get the correct temp set. The beds were just ok. Comfortable enough, but nothing special. The room felt old with a few minor cosmetic updates. Theblobbyvand some of the common areas appeared to have been recently updated. Hopefully, that happens in the rooms too. Parking was awkward. Very narrow parking stalls. And the parking lot was always nearly full.

Comfortable updated interior w nice amenities

The room was large, clean and well equipped—comfortable mattress and pillows, 2 luggage racks, refrigerator, large countertop cabinet that had a desk chair and drawers, window AC, louvre windows, gorgeous ceiling fan. Also hangars, hair dryer and iron. A really nice touch that other hotels should offer was a drying rack for clothing. Also used the water filling station in the lobby. The pool area had tables and chairs along w chaise lounge chairs. The location was convenient. Although it is by the airport, planes were infrequent and it was very quiet. Location is nice w a park, gas station and restaurants nearby. The parking lot was fenced and had video cameras and seemed more secure than nearby hotels. Negatives: the initial view of the hotel was from the side and it looked like a rundown apartment building and I drove by the hotel the first time, giving me second thoughts. The inside was fine. The bathroom was showing age, worn doors, wall dings. It was a hike from the entrance to the room, down multiple corridors, stairs only to the second floor and multiple staircases from the parking lot so anyone with mobility challenges may want to call ahead about the room location. And for an eco friendly hotel, there were no recycling containers in the room, only in the lobby and parking lot entrance. Would definitely stay again.

Great place to stay on island circle drive

We stayed for one night. The hotel has a nice location close to the shore with beaches, a street of banyan trees, and a park. The pool and garden area looked nice, although we didn't have time to use them. The hotel is not new, so you should expect that, but was clean and comfortable. The staff was wonderful!

The property was clean, had plenty of hot water in the morning and was conveniently located near a few restaurants. We rented a car after a couple of days and that meade us realize how much more conveniently located it was to other destinations. The staff was nice and helpful. We felt very safe in the property and the surrounding areas. We weren't in the room a lot, but it was a bit noisy at times with other guests and airplane traffic. Our sound machine was either broken or not easy to use. The restaurant attached was not very good, so I would not reccomend earing there. I would go to Pineapples or Hawaiian style if you want a great meal. Pond's and Ken's were totally fine and walkable from the hotel and decent. I would reccomend this place to travelers in general. If they had a TV, I would have given it a 5 star. Overall a great place to stay!

Be prepared There is no coffee hot water for tea etc in the room The king rooms are the farthest away from the lobby 10 min walk with luggage No elevator So it is more for minimalist vibe The parking is far from the rooms Pool is not heated pretty cold Refreshing in the day not at night No tv stations so bring your password or hdmi cord By the air port Bring ear plugs!!!

Great hotel, interesting location

All in all, this was a pretty lovely hotel. A little close to the airport, but somehow I barely noticed that. At first we were in a room by the pool. But that proved to be a little noisy, so we asked to be moved. They were so kind and moved us to a much more quiet area. There is a small bay or lagoon across the street from the hotel and that had some locals fishing there until pretty late in the evening and throughout the weekend. In all they were pretty quiet and kept to themselves. But on Sunday someone had some obnoxiously loud music blaring from their car or motorcycle. It was disruptive and unwelcome, but what can you do about that? It's their right to play music. And it certainly was not the hotel's fault. No room service, but there was complimentary coffee every morning and plenty of options of snacks for purchase in the gift shop/lobby area. The restaurant that is attached to the hotel was okay. Live music in the lobby some nights was a nice touch. And the proximity to downtown Hilo (so cute) was great.

Property was in a great location. Free SUP boards for use. The staff were the best!!!! The only fault would be the rooms need to be upgraded some. Overall yes we would stay there again. Did I mention the best staff!
