Gypsy Sea Cottage - A Beachside Retreat

Welcome to The Gypsy Sea Cottage—a beautifully renovated stand alone villa nestled in the prestigious Palmetto Dunes Resort, within the serene Queens Grant community. Just a short stroll to pristine beaches, championship golf courses, and world-class dining, this retreat offers a perfect balance of relaxation and adventure.

Inside, you`ll find high-end furnishings, luxury linens, smart home features, and a well-equipped kitchen—every detail thoughtfully designed for a seamless, memorable stay.

This thoughtfully designed one-level cottage blends comfort and style, showcasing custom details like elegant window treatments, granite countertops, and luxury linens.

Step into an open-concept layout featuring high ceilings and stylish furnishings. The living area includes a flat-screen Smart TV and cable—ready for streaming with your own Netflix account.

The bright and airy primary suite offers a king-size bed with a premium mattress, spacious closet, dresser, and a Wi-Fi-enabled flat-screen TV.

The second bedroom is perfect for couples, kids, or extended family, featuring a full-size bed, dresser, armoire, and flat-screen TV. A clever nook—once a closet—now houses custom-built bunk beds designed for children ages 2–12. Each bed includes a dimmable reading light, power outlet, and a built-in bookshelf with children`s books. (Each bed measures 22` wide by 6` long.)

The fully renovated bathroom features granite countertops, a custom-tiled floor, and a subway tile shower/tub combo.

The kitchen is outfitted with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and is equipped with cookware and utensils. You`ll also have a new front-loading washer and dryer for your convenience.

The open dining area seats six and connects seamlessly to the living space, where sliding glass doors open to a private backyard oasis. Outside, you`ll find sun loungers, a gas grill, high-end turf, and ambient white string lights for evening relaxation.

Community pools are just a short walk away, and the beach is about a 15-minute stroll (faster for adults). We`re located near the second hole fairway, with the clubhouse just a short walk from the cottage. Nearby attractions include Kroger, Shelter Cove Marina (shops and restaurants), and Shelter Cove Park with its playground and seasonal community events.

From April 1 to September 1, enjoy The Dunes Buggy, a free, on-call shuttle service offered by Palmetto Dunes that transports you and your gear quickly around the resort, including to and from the beach.

Your stay includes a starter set of paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, laundry detergent, garbage bags, and toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hand soap). We also provide beach towels, bath towels, bed linens, a standard coffee maker with filters, plus beach chairs and toys for fun in the sun.

Guests have access to the entire property.

During the months from April 1st to September 1st Palmetto Dunes offers a free on call door to door shuttle service known as The Dunes Buggy that will take you and all your things between the cottage, the beach and all the locations listed above. They typically arrive within 10 minutes of being called and the drivers are great!

Hilton Head Outfitters is located near the cottage and they offer bike rentals. We enjoy biking the island, especially during the cooler months.

Upon booking your reservation, there is a welcome guidebook in PDF format in the VRBO reservation. We highly recommend reading it before your stay to be able to reserve bikes ahead of time, have an idea of food in the area, familiarize yourself with groceries and the Dune Buggy (when in season).

**If there is an opportunity for an early check in (if there are no guest the night before), there is a $25 per hour fee. This is typically not available, but you can inquire the day before check in.
Upon arrival in Palmetto Dunes resort the guest must pay $25 for a parking pass per vehicle (limit 2) that lasts the duration of the stay.

The bunk beds in the second bedroom are only for use by children 12 and under. The width of the beds is 22 inches and they are built into what was a closet space. Due to size and weight limitations on the beds, the maximum number of adult guests for the cottage is 4.

As a guest of this cottage, you'll find barbecue grills, a garden, and laundry facilities. The front desk is open around the clock.
