The room was in good condition, and the onsen functioned very well. The staff, however, for the first time since our 21 day trip began, were completely without English basic proficiency. So, even the most minor request took too long and was overly formalized (“please have a seat over there, while I work on your request” was sometimes ridiculous and time consuming. Secondly, it’s concierge to help us with restaurant reservations was inefficient and, again because or very poor English language skills, challenging. At least one manager and one desk person needs to speak Basic fluid English. You charge $900+ per night. Find properly skilled professionals.
