Excellent customer service, front desk and all staff at the hotel. Very clean rooms, comfortable beds. The rooms are smaller, but it’s an older hotel completely renovated and an awesome location. Enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to stay at any of Grand Hotel du lac locations, same great service and location and staff in Hanoi as well. We had an early check out and they had packed a breakfast and coffee to go before the restaurant opened. These guys are great!

Spotless, comfortable room, great view, great staff, nice breakfast. Neighborhood around hotel is sort of a touristy hub, busy and "touristy" but it is so central and walkable to everything. Pool is tiny and commonly full.

The room was good for two, it was clean and modern. The staff were very attentive, the roof top pool was small and could do with an upgrade but was fine. The breakfasts were excellent and the staff were always available to help with local recommendation's and its location is perfect with most of the local attractions within walking distance. We loved our stay.

Room is OK, smaller than I thought. 3 days stay, everyday hotel staff chased me for room payment, which I paid in full with Expedia and the first day checked into hotel. End up to be hotel staff’s issue. 3 days, the ONLY service I received was chasing me everyday for payment that they messed up.

The room was significantly tight with a lack of space. The entire hotel, including the dining space, hallways, elevators, lobby, etc is extremely small and tight. The breakfast buffet was average at best and the coffee we ordered on two mornings (cafe Sua da, cafe Americano) was quite awful. One of the two elevators was down for maintenance for a significant period and they are also quite slow. Check in was a little clumsy and hard to hear and one must always eagerly describe that they are prepared to discuss the area for best shopping and dining and local tourist options. This was not done. Generally the staff is excellent, particularly the doormen, but this hotel should not be rated as a 5 star, our opinion is the hotel qualifies as a 3 star hotel. I am and shall remain confused over the high ratings and glowing reviews and assume it is from tourists with little to experience in travel. We made use of the hotel but never felt we were staying at a 5 star facility.

The hotel is extremely clean, well maintained, quiet and comfortable - while being at the centre of district 1. But the highlight are the staff that make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive - whether that’s by greeting in front of the hotel and helping with luggage or taking care to show around the amenities of the room. It’s a huge accomplishment for the staff to be available and attentive at a compact yet busy facility like this one. Kelly has been a particular star who went above and beyond in helping me navigate a food poisoning I acquired when eating out - including even making a booking at a local clinic and the best raw ginger tea I’ve had in my life.
