The neighborhood

"The Lookout Holiday House sits on Hobart’s sunny Eastern Shore in the peaceful suburb of Bellerive — one of the city’s most sought-after areas. Just down the road, you’ll find Salamanca Fresh (19 Clarence Street), a boutique grocer stocked with fresh Tasmanian produce and gourmet essentials.



You’re only a 3-minute drive to Eastlands, Tasmania’s largest shopping centre, with restaurants, cafes, and the Blundstone Arena nearby — perfect if you’re in town for cricket or football. The Hobart CBD is an easy 10-minute drive away, or you can stroll or take a short drive to Bellerive Quay and hop on the ferry across the beautiful Derwent River.



The popular Bellerive Beach is just 3 minutes from your door, and for nature lovers, there’s direct access to a scenic bushwalking and bike track right across the road.

Getting around

We recommend hiring a car to take advantage of what Southern Tasmania has to offer. There is a great bus service that runs regulating down the road from the house in Clarence Street, as well as the ferry at Bellerive Quay.

The house is well equiped with everything we needed for our family who all enjoy cooking! It is a very comfortable home close to shopping and the city yet still a very peaceful place. We saw walabies in the street outside every evening trimming the local lawns, saving lawmower time for the owners.
