Mountain cottage overlooking Ustevatn at Ustaoset

At Hallingstølen, you will immediately find peace of mind. The view from the terrace offers a fantastic view of Ustevatn and the plateau towards Hallingskarvet. While enjoying a cup of coffee on the veranda in the morning, you may spot grouse or hares. In summer, the cabin is surrounded by flower meadows and skvalderkål, and the sun conditions are very good with sun from morning to evening on the large terrace.



The cabin is functional and cozy with three bedrooms, living room, dining room, and upgraded kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine. Bathroom with shower and underfloor heating, as well as a large entrance hall, woodshed, and loft. The cabin has been modernized several times but has retained its original charm. In the blue hour in winter, it is perfect to grill sausages in the fire pit outside the cabin.



The magnificent nature is right next to the cabin. In winter, you can park in a cleared parking lot about 200 meters away, while in summer you have your own parking spaces (for up to 3 cars) right next to the cabin. The large terrace is perfect for enjoying breakfast while looking out over the mountains.



For short trips, we recommend swimming from the pier at Ustaoset station, renting a rowboat and trying your luck at fishing, or walking along the cabin roads. A quiet afternoon trip up to Rjukenseter or Lille-Rjuken peak is absolutely wonderful. Follow the many ski trails or paths up to Hallingskarvet, Prestholtseter, or Geilo—in summer or winter!
