The property has modern HVAC equipment with outside air circulation. We also supply hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes for when you return from your ventures.
If you don’t find our place sparkling clean, clutter free, and well maintained – we promise to make it right.

Hawks Landing is on the West side of downtown, about 5 minutes from the downtown core and 8 minutes from Waterfront Park. We are just behind, up and above a retail area with the local Safeway grocery store, drug store, liquor store, pizza and more. Being up on the hillside gives us great views of Mt. Adams and the Columbia River, and being located behind a one-story retail mall ensures those 180 degree views are unobstructed. Please note, however, that you will see some roof-lines and neighboring businesses when gazing down below those inspiring views. Because we are at the end of a cul-de-sac, and behind the retailers there is essentially no nearby traffic. So although Hawks Landing is in the city - it is surprisingly safe and quiet.
There are several fast food outlets and a handful of restaurants within a 10 minute walk, and walking to the downtown retail core takes about 20 minutes. We are licensed with the City of Hood River with License Number 703.
Beds and Rooms:
You’ll find a luxurious night’s rest on any of our 14” memory foam mattresses with high thread count 100% cotton sheets. The master bedroom has a king bed, the second bedroom is your choice of king or 2 twins, and the third bedroom has a queen.
2 full bathrooms, and one half bath, come fully stocked with Pharmacopia shower gel, shampoo and conditioner products, as well as plush 100% cotton towels.
Need extra room? Our modern sofa downstairs folds into a full-size bed, with plenty of extra linens available. We also have the most comfortable twin airbed we could find to provide even more options.
Internet:
Need to browse the Internet? Not a problem. Hi-Speed Fiber Internet and Mesh WiFi is available and free to use by any of our guests. Login info provided in your welcoming packet.
Billiards Room:
Feeling like a night in, or entertaining for the evening? Then you’ll enjoy our Billiards Room with room to play and watch. Simply connect your smart phone to our Bluetooth speaker and stream your favorite tunes while trying not to scratch your final shot.
Kitchen and Dining:
Enjoy either of two spacious balconies; one off the living room, and one off the master bedroom. While relaxing, take-in the views of Mt. Adams and the Columbia River.
You`ll find new stainless appliances and full kitchen suite of utensils and cooking accessories will have you cooking your favorite dishes with ease. Our fridge has filtered water built-in and an ice maker on the ready.
Enjoy use of spices, seasonings and condiments as well as your favorite cup of joe. We support whole bean, ground, and Keurig habits..
TV and Entertainment:
Want to catch a game, or watch some movies? We`ve got you covered with our 55” 4k Samsung TV boasting an excellent 4K OLED picture. Also, enjoy all your favorite shows and content with YouTube TV included, and Netflix, HBO and several other content providers ready for your log-in.

Not shown in the photos are curtains for the master bedroom, so you can sleep comfortably and wake up refreshed for the days activities. All of our rooms have cellular shades. You’ll also find games for both kids and adults.

This place has an excellent air filtration system, gas heat and central air conditioning to keep you comfortable no matter the season.
A full size Samsung front load washer and dryer are available, just in case you need it.

VACATION RENTAL CONTRACT – Hawks Landing This vacation rental contract is a legal agreement between James Matthisen (also referred to as the “Homeowners” and “Owner” and “Landlord” and “Property Manger”) and you, the Renters (also referred to as “Tenants” and “Guests”). This contract is entered into agreement as of the date when the Renters place their reservation online and the reservation is screened and accepted by the Homeowner. The Homeowner will notify the Renters by email when their reservation is accepted. Owner reserves the right to refuse service to anyone. Payment Policy: PAYEE James Matthisen Phone: (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) E-mail: (Email hidden by Airbnb) In order to book and hold your reservation, we must receive the deposit and signed rental contract. The deposit of 50% of the rental total is due on acceptance of this contract by owner. Cleaning & Linen Service Policy: The home is provided with pillows, linens, blankets, towels, kitchen towels, comforters, hand towels & wash cloths including extras located in closets. A cleaning service to clean the house and linens on your departure is included on your invoice. You are responsible that all debris, rubbish and discards are placed in plastic bags and transferred to the large trashcans by the garage, and soiled dishes and cooking utensils are placed in the dishwasher and cleaned. Linens, blankets, pillows, bedspreads, comforters and towels are provided. It is standard for beds (except bunk beds are not fully made) to be made for Guests arrival as part of the linen and cleaning service. The home is provided with a starter set of toilet paper & paper towels. Owners do not guarantee that these extra items will always be available and guests may need to replenish their own paper goods, toiletries, & laundry detergent, etc. Rental Agreement: We, the Renters (also referred to as “Tenants” and or “Guests”) agree to the following: 1) PAYMENT DUE - All rental monies are due according to the payment schedule disclosed under `Payment Policy` above on reservation acceptance. 2) CANCELATION 30 DAYS or LESS before check-in, Renters will forfeit the total rental amount. The total rental includes all charges on any payments made, with the exception of any refundable security deposits. Renter may mitigate this loss by purchasing Travel Insurance or Cancel for Any Reason insurance offered by from a third party provider. CANCELATION 31 DAYS or MORE before check-in, Renters will receive a REFUND of the amounts paid less any travel insurance fee and minus a credit card processing fee of 3.5%. EARLY DEPARTURE - There are NO REFUNDS for EARLY DEPARTURE. 3) HURRICANES & TROPICAL STORMS - There are NO REFUNDS for hurricanes, tropical storms or weather conditions, even if a mandatory evacuation is ordered (optional travel insurance is offered for Renters protection or Renter may obtain through a third party. Renter ASSUMES THE RISK). 4) CONDITION OF PROPERTY: Owners have, to the best of their ability, given an accurate description of the property and its condition. Guest understands that it is considered as reserved `sight unseen`. Our cleaning staff will have cleaned it before your occupancy. All electrical, plumbing and appliances should be in working order. The failures of operation of certain extra amenities, such as TVs, cable, games, or the Internet and WiFi service are not a basis for any refund. Owner will make every effort to have these items repaired but does not guarantee that they will be repaired during Guests occupancy. When you arrive, if you find that the house has not been cleaned to normal standards please notify the Owner immediately. We will do our best to have tradesmen attend to the problems but may not be able to fix everything over holidays and weekends. Under no circumstances will any of the rental money be refunded or returned because of the condition of the house. The Guest agrees to hold the Owner harmless from any liability for the condition of the house. Due to the nature of rental properties, the stairs, decks and concrete are not always stable. Use at your own risk. 5) CLEANING & REPAIRS: All homes have cleaning included in the total rent. Please note that cleaning does not include dishes & cooking utensils. If additional cleaning is required after you leave, it will be charged to your credit card. Guest agrees to keep house, furniture and furnishings in good order. Removing, adding or changing furniture without Owner’s written approval shall be deemed a material breach of this Rental Agreement, and is strictly prohibited.
