Okay might be a bit harsh, but wouldn’t stay again, not for me.
Self check in out, signs saying add your car Reg to a terminal for parking, but you don’t need to do now as they have taken the camera’s down….great but take the signs down also!
Charge extra £15 for early check in so avoid if you can
Given the whole hotel is dog friendly is good, but still charge £15 extra per dog per night, and only provide a thin mat, no bowls - although had brought my own
Room clean, std was big enough, all very new and functional.
Had a lunch which was ok.
Breakfast was all buffet limited basic choice, area was very messy.
Good position for the Peak District.
Just not for me again a bit much style over substance
Delightful staff and modern facilities in a picturesque setting. The room was spacious and very comfortable with all the necessary equipment available.
Dinner at the restaurant was absolutely perfect and delicious.
Being surrounded by dogs is always great, too.
Great place to stay, we were really impressed with the whole setup. Everything has been thought of for walkers, bikers and dogs. Good lock ups and wash areas, even for the dog! Good location with plenty of walks from the hotel. We had breakfast and evening meals in the hotel, all of which was tasty. Even has take away bags at breakfast. Room was really comfortable with a decent shower. Dog friendly throughout. We will definitely return.
Me and my partner enjoyed our stay. We felt it was very good value. Friendly staff. Very clean and tidy. Room was modern and inviting. The food in the restaurant was amazing. The breakfast was good with a good variety of continental foods. We don't have a dog but I thought it was very good how this hotel catered well for people who did have dogs and the dogs were even welcomed in the restaurant whilst their owners ate breakfast. Parking was good to the rear of the building. The only negative I can say is the noise from trains going past woke me up a couple of times in the night and the mattress was a bit too firm for me so I didn't sleep that well but other than that it's an excellent place to stay. I would be happy to stay again.
The hotel far exceeded expectations. The room was a decent size and very clean. The bed was very comfortable and also very big (2 singles joined together). Check-in was automated and very easy. The only thing we had to find a member of staff about was where to put our registration for the car park. We were told that it doesn't matter because the system isn't working. Breakfast was continental style and there was a massive choice to be had and it was all very fresh. Finally, what a lovely compliment of staff, all so very helpful. We will definitely stay there again when we visit the Peak District.
Very modern, fresh and with a lot of well thought it details. Love the fact that one can check-in and check-out entirely on the tablets at reception, even procuring the room keys.
The breakfast is the weakest link in an otherwise great experience. Reduced choices, no hot breakfast (other than 'boil your own egg'), no decaf coffee... Easily solvable, but a shame they haven't done this already.
Easy parking, although it can get really full if you go ou and get back late.
Overall highly recommended, with a few minor hiccups.
Our comments…..Busy road to walk out with dog. Room fridge not working, had to collect when wanted. Restaurant service good but slow.
Coffee cake at 4.00pm appreciated but limited and token small cakes. Comfortable stay but much prefer the says at Scarborough.
