Horta is such a gem of an island—absolutely stunning! We booked this hotel last-minute and lucked out with one of the last two rooms available. Snagging the ocean view was totally worth it—the views were incredible and made for the perfect backdrop to our stay. The location couldn’t have been better! We were able to walk to just about everything, which made exploring so easy and fun. Pro tip: make sure to catch the sunset just down the street by the beach—it’s pure magic. I treated myself to a massage during our stay, and as a massage therapist myself, I can honestly say she was fantastic! Super skilled and totally relaxing. The massage table (and the bed in the room) was on the firmer side, but hey, that’s a small tradeoff for everything else this place offers. Breakfast was super convenient and kept us full for our adventures, and the omelets by the pool bar? Absolutely delicious! We had a little hiccup during our stay, possibly due to a language barrier at first, but once another staff member stepped in, it was handled quickly and kindly—big points for service recovery! Yes, the hotel has a bit of a vintage vibe and the AC wasn’t exactly the best, but honestly, the unbeatable location and easy access to everything (especially the marina—perfect if you’re into fishing!) made it a fantastic choice. All in all, this place made our Horta getaway extra memorable. Would happily stay again!

The hotel is a lovely property, the pool is fantastic with a beautiful ocean view, and the complimentary breakfast is high quality with many choices. The rooms are a bit dated with quite firm beds, but are otherwise comfortable. The location is excellent with an easy walk to the city center.

Lovely location, beautiful views and easy walk to Horta Marina. Large spacious rooms and nice but chilly swimming pools. Rather dated decor and no vegan options available in the restaurant which was disappointing as the menu advertised some options but when we enquired, only meat and fish available. A kettle in the room would be a massive bonus as €4.20 for 2 tea bags and a pot of hot water was very expensive.

To call this hotel a 4 star hotel is a joke. The rooms are in dire need of a refurb and the bathrooms are so worn and outdated it give off a bad energy. Worst of all was the so called spa. The horrid tiles and fittings were decades old, dirty and soiled. The wood from the sauna was burnt dark brown and didn’t provide sufficient heat. It was admittedly not an expensive stay but there are far better options than this. On the upside the location was great and only minutes walk to the harbour front.

Staff friendly. Pool and spa facility very good all season. Good gymnasium. Food offerings limited but what was offered was not bad and price reasonable. Rooms need some modernization. Shower bath combo a little slippery, possible fall hazard. But overall ok. Good breakfast buffet. Views were the best in Horta. Nice bar area.
