The first room we were in- the bed frame had blood stains on both sides so they were very accommodating and moved us. Then ar 2 in the morning a man walked into our room while we were sleeping ; ended up being one worker but I didn’t sleep the rest of the night. Needless to say I won’t be back.

Ok if you want bare bones room

This is bare bones hotel. The closet is a rack out in open area and had one hanger that looked like the metal hanger from dry cleaner. Had a king sized bed with pillows so small they looked like throw pillows for on a sofa. The TV did not work. We had to go to front desk to request shampoo and a hair dryer. There was very little breakfast food left when I got to breakfast room at 8 am. Some cold cereal and a few bagels and English muffins. No evidence of any fruit, yogurt, eggs or anything hot.

Hotel Ylem is definitely a gem in this area. It’s a small boutique hotel. I didn’t know until we visited but they serve many that are visiting the medical center. They even have a sign at the front offering Ubers to patients needing a ride to and from, which I thought was extremely courteous and kind for those traveling here. They also take a lot of care cleaning the rooms. The fridge was one of the few hotel fridges we’ve experienced that actually stays cold. Only negative we encountered was having trouble finding parking coming back on a Thursday night, the lot was full and some cars did not pull through to available spaces. We had to squeeze through next to a storage container and parts in the lot hoping ppl would just pull out in the morning.

Came with a friend for a concert and stayed the night. This hotel was the best! Clean, sweet staff, nice bar, and right near tons of walkable locations. We didn’t know when we booked but they even were able to provide a shuttle to and from the concert. It was literally THE BEST. Will be booking again every time I come out to Houston!
