Awful from start to finish
I booked this property to visit family and celebrate my son’s 30th Birthday. I sent regular messages to the host to ask for an earlier check in if possible, so that we could get ready for the party which started at 4pm. She stated that we had to see if the cleaners were finished when we got there. We arrived at 2.50 (3 pm check in ) to find the bed stripped, the dirty laundry in a pile on the floor and a very dirty property. Tried to contact the host immediately ( as she states that should be done ) with no joy. Then a message received so I replied and told her of problems. She stated the cleaner would be there soon as she had forgotten to tell them about the clean being needed ( this after stating a week before that we would have to wait until the cleaners had finished before we could check in ). We had no towels , the bathroom was dirty from previous guests and the boiler switched off which led to low pressure , thus no hot water. We could not shower or get ready for my son’s party. The cleaner arrived at 4.10 , just as we were leaving for the party , with no towels or bedding. It had been cleaned when we returned but too little too late. We took photos of the mould, overgrown outside space , peeling paintwork and out of date milk/biscuits left for guests at the request of VRBO complaints team , who are in full agreement of the awful state of this property. It’s a shame I can’t post them. Rude, unhelpful host who thinks a 60 refund is appropriate. AVOID BOOKING HERE
