Disliked: Cleanliness
Great place in Devon...Cleanliness is key!
The property was semi-cleaned when we arrived. Although a male staff member was very helpful at the bar, the sofa and the carpet was covered in pet hair. We had to put blankets of our own over the chairs as we did not see them fit to sit on. We also had put our yoga mats on the carpet as we did not see it fit for the children to play Lego or games on. The beds were not made and general cleanliness we expected for the price was not there. The flat had pet odour and we had to keep the doors open for a few hours to get rid of the smell. The new mattresses were divine, however we did feel cheated. We decided to extend our stay and the contact centre gave us a discount for that day. We were appreciative of this, however it did not expel our first reaction upon arrival and the reflection of the price we paid. The entertainment at night was poor and the play gym was closed for most of our stay for repairs. The resort is a great place, however it was very overpriced for the standard we received. We would have second thoughts visiting again for fear the same thing would happen. London is a very far place to drive to Devon from and we are a very well travelled couple. We have visited over 100s of hotels and holidays stays around the country so are very experienced with (at least) good standards. Ilfracombe is an amazing place and the location of the large Tesco is brilliant! The above are facts.
