For a true taste of local life, a landmark pub on the edge of the park dates from the 18th century and serves up locally sourced food. For a more cosmopolitan vibe, the city of Leeds is 11 miles distant, while Haworth – famous for its association with the literary Brontë sisters and the preserved Keighley and Worth Valley Railway – is another must-see and only 13 miles away.
